welcome to pagan scrapbooks applying on my sis Chandler today we're going to talk about numerous types of books of shadows and the reason why I created these products I'm a fanatical scrapbooker I love to scrapbook um I wanted to be able to make my own book of shadows but I noticed that there was absolutely no scrapbook supplies available in any stores that were for pagans so I decided to design a whole my scrapbook supplies for pagans and we've got numerous such products that you can use for a variety of different books for example if you have a small book of shadows like this one that's you know comes with them pages in it that you write on we have small smell spell pages that you can go and tape right into the pages and then add stickers and other elements on top of it this is why I say make a scrapbook of shadows because I like to add things and layer things on top of each other if you have a larger book of shadows that's bound with pages you can get our eight-and-a-half by eleven loose pages and you can see they're clear our single sided because they're meant for you to take a piece of tape and attach it to the pages of your book and then once you do that you can layer other elements on top of it we have stickers and verbs and crystals that you can lay on top of it but my absolute favorite type that we have um I designed these mounted pages because I wanted a book of shadows that was always going to be able to be modified and changed and it made mistakes in the past with spells when I was starting out and I was new to Wicca I would I wrote spells where I expected the tools to do all the work for me without like you know empowering the tools and telling them what I wanted out like like 50 different candles but not take the time to patent cow or any of them I wrote spells with words of negation like don't and can't and won't now later on when I went back and looked at those spells I realized oh no I want to take this part out and change it and modify it and so with these um eight and half by eleven mounted pages um they are designed to be a little bit thicker in the middle than they are on the edges so you can put things like stickers and herbs and feathers and any element you want on sort of like the outer portion of the pages and the book will continue to lay flat um also the other is why I designed this is because I knew I wanted to scrapbook my book of shadows but there weren't anything available in any stores other than the traditional plastic sheet protectors which I love for my photo scrapbooks absolutely love them for my photo scrapbooks but I don't really like plastic it's not really a good just doesn't have good properties for magic because it's man-made it's not natural so I wanted a book of shadows that was free of the plastic sheet protectors so I decide these they are front and back and what you can do is add them I have a wonderful friend and business partner whose husband makes these wonderful fully adjustable book of shadows and so you can take the pages and add them the reason I love doing it this way is you can um I pages you can move pages around and so you can see I've got a section for spells where I have all of my spells and I have a spectra section for candles where I put all my recipes for candles um and then I have potions lotions oils and brews and so I can add pages and move them around and put them anywhere I want to I just absolutely love the idea of working with a fully adjustable ever-changing book of shadows that you can always continue to modify so I'm going to do a demonstration on how to work with all these different products to make a scrapbook of shadows so um whether you are when you are our pages whether you get them mounted double sided or you get them um eight and a half I love it and single sided or you get our smaller pages which come which are five license five by six roughly they are meant to go into a smaller book of shadows um I always include with the purchase for the customers loose pieces of copper parchment paper I love the way the copper parchment paper looks when it's layered on top of the IRA parchment page or parchment paper which I used to make all of the sheets and so when you get the copper you can write on it or you can run it through a printer might have on my spills up on the computer and because I'd love to use a bunch of decorative fonts I actually downloaded most of the fonts that were in the Charmed Book of Shadows because I just absolutely loved what they had in the TV show the way the fonts look so I put my spell on the paper I ran it through the printer and now I'm going to show you how I make it look really really old and antique but still impressive and functional at the same time so I take the top the copper parchment paper with my snow on it and rip it out you can cut but I really prefer to rip because ripping really makes it look aged and a lot more interesting and magical I really like to char the edges of the parchment paper I usually do this for most spells I do it for um anything except a love spell or beauty spell I don't like to char because it's got more sort of delicate energy to it but I'd love to do it for power spells and well spells and things like that so when you char the edges do not put this too close to the flame because it'll go up in a second you'll be surprised how quickly catches on fire hold it over the flame about two to three inches and just put it around the edges and you'll see it start to burn and as soon as it starts to get a little charred you can pull it away okay so I've got all my um pieces of paper torn and charred now I'm going to take scotch double-sided tape and add the pages if you're sure that you're never going to want to modify a spell you can use glue to pin them down but I like tape because it's not so permanent now you can see that I'm doing each part of the spell in different sections the reason I like to do this is because once it's finished if I see a mistake or see something that I just think we work better if there's a particular ingredient I want to add to the spell for the next time I cast it um all you have to do is pull up this one piece of paper reprint this one section tear it and place it back down so if you do it this way it saves you from having to redo entire pages so it's just a very very easy way to have a book of shadows that you can always modify now the next section I really love this was actually inspired by practical magic I if you go back and for those of you who have it on DVD you can go and see when they're flipping through their book they have all these herbs and crystals pressed into the pages and they have feathers and things of that nature absolutely loved that so if you add herbs and crystals like here we have an herb and crystal sheep it's up basil because basil is excellent room for wealth and tiger's eye excellent Christopher Wow so I love to add these after and you can see that in all of my Spokane just I usually list and ferb that's really good for the magical properties of that particular spell I'm kind of layer you can go over or you can go under they I use it I use sort of transparent wax paper to press the herb so you can place it over and you can still read your spell or this one I think I'm going to place it under cuz I like the way that leaf kind of curves into that again double sided okay anything under and then because this sticks out I'm just going to do is get the scissors and cut that excess piece off don't need so I just love it because it's completely functional it's got all the information you need as a spill page should but it also looks you know like it's um a family heirloom it looks like it's aged you know it has some um you know magical appearance and it's functional which is absolutely love stop books and movies and TV shows tend to be more visual and just focused more on pictures so I wanted it to have pictures and have all the visual elements but be completely functional and have all the room you need to add your spells now the last thing I'm going to do is I designed sets of stickers to go along with the spell pages I'm gonna put the money tree there and and I'm kind of put treasurers cutter things for some look at the treasure down here on the bottom you can also put the stickers over the the torn sheets of paper because they kind of hold them down a little bit and look nice I also love to add natural elements here's a green feather that I charge for well dad feathers and things of this nature it's kind of best to take single sided tape instead of double-sided tape because if you want it to just hold it down better and you sort of put it over everything and just take the bottom so there you go that's how you make a scrapbook of sheds because this is a wealth spell that I want to add now I want to put it here so what I'm going to do is go for the back of the book and you can see that these books expand so the spine expands up to how many just three inches so this might experience up to three inches and my friends husband who designed this book designed this so you can take these out add the pages put it back together always always able to be modified okay so I'm going to take this apart and now I'm going to remove the back and you can see this is the spine so the book really expands so but this particular book type of book of shadows it be adjustable the infinitely adjustable book of shadows as my friend likes to call it you can just continue to add pages over the years which I just love about it so here on my well spell pages this is the section I want to add it to so I want to keep them in alphabetical order it just slip them in go ahead and add the color spell pages now everything is nice and neat and order okay and put the backpack on and these are extra durable what are they called again monofilament line yeah say how many pallets to behold freak out okay yeah they can hold three thousand pounds what are they used for Reed whackers so but they can hold freaked out that's crazy so no matter how many pages you put in here it's going to you know it's going to work it's going to be something that you can always modify and it's going to hold your pages in place okay so now I'll pull that as tightly as I can and so the pain just stick together as much as possible and push down now to tuck the rest of the stress on your in Reid tuck your spine back in and what kind of leather is this video well it's dark charcoal gray from a glove company in Italy and it was obtained with the best possible intent and then how do you make the cover that's Dave secret recipe aha so we're going to have a whole bunch of different covers coming out this is what simple is this carry its blessings okay and then that is cosmic moon okay then we're also going to have some pentagrams and hospital can you guys replicate the charm to cover these I know a lot of people get all my spells together and what I love about it is it looks like a regular book it looks like just pages of a regular book as you turn the pages if you pulled up the binding hide enough
