Please explain how to replace a spigot or hose bib on cpvc pipe

hey homestead prepper okay today we're going to change out a hose bib I broke one off that's where it comes out of the wall the one on the left is the hot water the one on the right is the cold water I had this in here and this was on there so tightly when I held this with a wrench and then tried to twist that off it ended up cracking this piece right here you can see that crack right there and it just popped it right off and this is kind of a crappy fitting right here these are a lot more substantial I think these were three dollars and fifty cents each I forgot how much that is i cant't ate that but what I've done is water was just pouring out of here so what I did was use my shop vac and I put that up there for a couple minutes that hold water out it was some residual glue like this I just scrape that off clean that off the best I could let's get that off of there and what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and put this on this right here while it's easy to get to instead of trying to die and maybe we'll have another mishap so all right well let's see see it will do this will take some teflon tape and wrap that around there like that - start it right there just go around you can use the do the goop whatever it's called teflon seal I like this because it seems to last longer put this one and and hand-tight won't be good enough so we're going to do we'll put this on at the little spot right there and then we'll just give it a couple turns that way it's nice and snug you don't want to bear it on there and break it off well that's pretty snug right there I've done a video before how you put CPVC glue on some people like to slather it on them what'll happen is you'll you'll make a glue web this will be covered with glue and you won't get any water out of it so let's see if we can do this and this is gold medium yellow whatever you want to call it see PVC glue okay the way I do it is you just go right around the rim like that then you come over here just go a little bit around the rim like that you just push it on just kind of twist it a little bit okay we're gonna let that set for 30 minutes or an hour then we'll turn the water on and we'll see how it does okay while we're at it we're going to go ahead and replace this hose bib - so it's oh we're just going to go ahead and change it and the way I would do it I would grab this right here if you can see that this happen this you see it and you just take this and nothing's really loose which you should turn it on let all the water out because if you do this it could cause problems so let's take that out there is a rubber SAP in there and this doesn't have to be dry for me to replace it let's just see this has got this gasket in here so you just take this one I already put the tape on it and we'll go ahead and open the valve let's pull it paper over there it just says it's approved for drinking its paw potable potable hours pronounced and put this thing on here and we don't want to go too tight with CPVC like that you just want to just barely snug it and again while with like this as you can see just take it we'll just try that it may need another turn we turn the water back on to determine that so I know it doesn't look the same but I would have to break this one off and I don't want to risk breaking the pipe in the wall so all right it's been over a half hour let's let's turn the water on and see what we got I'm just going to go ahead and open this one up just a little bit okay let's go bleed-out the hot water let's cut the bow Ross let's see what it does he says it needs a little bit of a leak right there so we're just going to try and tighten that up a little bit more all that's pretty tight okay I wanted to throw in there that you should have an anti siphon thing on your hose bib that way you can't have any water siphon back in your house I took mine off of the other end over there that's because I had to run a hose over to my neighbor's when my well went out a couple years ago so make sure you put that back on I neglected to mention that you've got to turn your water off this is my well and this is the shutoff right here you just take that and just turns off like that you may have a handhold and you may need a special tool to turn the water off but I would strongly advise not trying to pull a hose bib off without turning the water off or you have let's just say a little excitement okay we're all done we got no leaks everything seems to be working pretty good I have a extra one of these like I said in case that ever breaks I'll replace it at that time I'm acting like I said I'm not going to go through being up late tonight because something you know breaks off in the wall but I've got these there's nothing wrong with these hose bibs I'll probably just hang them I could probably use them for something else who knows okay homestead prep route you
