The Ming dynasty was the last imperial dynasty of China ruled by Han Chinese. It lasted from 1368 to 1644 after the collapse of the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty. The Yongle Emperor established Beijing as a secondary capital and renamed it the Forbidden City.
