hello everyone it's a tolerable again today I'm going to show you how to take a pair of old computer speakers or your low-quality computer speakers and hook up a good quality sound a pair of speakers to them this also works for anything with the standard headphone jack your ipod your iphone your ipad any phones but anything like this I want to start by discerning what type of wires you have you have a USB port this is your power cable you obviously need this as your to go into the headphone jack of whatever sort of device you're going to plug this into make sure you save these keep these very well intact and you have the computer speaker with all the power and the volume adjustment on it this is important this one is not all you really need off of this one is alike the speaker wire all you have to do is cut that off done with that this you need you're going to want to look at this very closely figure out how comes apart exactly I see screws through the speaker cover so I know the speaker cover has to come off somehow it comes off just like that or not really not concerned what this looks like cosmetics are not important alright so the screws that I see right here holding the back casing out make sure you have a screwdriver the correct size remove these screws remove the backing say that if you wish if whether you want want to say this is cosmetics to hold the circuit board you want to get a little more creative with it is up to you I prefer to put this in a little something I make out a work this speaker is now optional get rid of that that'll remove the circuit board gently remove that this is all you really need locate the left speaker wire the one without the power attached to it that you already cut off untie that sometimes these wires are marked what is negative and what is positive usually the white markings on the individual wire that means negative if you do not see the markings on here you can always look very closely at the circuit board where the wires are plugged in the white section and a clear section the white section is always negative if you're locating where the speaker wire comes down at the circuit board here leave about four inches cut it off this is now extra speaker wire you use for something else you like you separate these wires and I have an extra well I'm not extra I have a separate length of speaker cable here you have the black which is the negative of the regice bit up accordingly the black actually goes to the white on this standard circuit board attach your wires like so you're going to want to put electrical tape on these these make any kind of contact those severely affect your audio quality next step will be to firmly insulate these wires here make sure you have no contact whatsoever alright use electrical tape you can see I always leave a little bit of a tab I always fold about 1/2 to 1/4 inch of it over every time I'm done with it every time I start it it just makes for a very easy way to use electrical tape and you never have to look for the end of it and then when you're done taping a circuit and you have to untape it there's a very easy tap just pull on and then on tape it it's not a problem it's great little trick she makes a little tab she arrived on why this again would make the life a lot easier and now have the positive and negative wires for your left speaker here we have these feeder wires to the right speaker that you saw me cut off and discard this is actually the one in the housing with the volume control and the power control these are black and red as you can notice these are actually hooked up accordingly a black is negative red is positive see I repeat the electrical tape process for the other set of speaker wires and we're basically done now you could do whatever you want with this you could put this and do some sort of decorative little wood housing to cover all of this these you're off and on switch as your volume switch you can do whatever you want for I guess for convenience I'm just going to put it back in this putting it back in the original housing obviously I have to find a way to run these new speaker wires at as convenient port right in the speaker here which will work quite nicely I mark the right side speaker wires with a piece of tape there so I know what I'm doing when this is all out here gyah test me make sure everything works before you actually reassemble it save you a headache of him to take it back art that back apart if you find out you didn't outline something properly reinstall the cover I did bust this up on the way out yeah it's going to look how it looks right like I said I'm not too concerned about the cosmetics if actually I'll just take that small circuitry housing out and put in a nice little box a small cigar style box or something like that but basically it's all you need to do you are now ready to hook this up to your computer your iPod iPad if you need that external outlet hook this up to an X and AC to USB converter or find an old set of computer speakers with an AC plug and here's your completed homemade speaker amplifier like I said as far as this part is concerned you can do whatever you want with that all you need is a small circuit board that's inside there take your speaker wires you hooked up hook them up to your favorite speakers and enjoy your music the way it should be here enjoy till next time
