hi you guys so i'm happy you guys came back again now um as requested how to make this skirt i'm making this skirt someone ordered it from my store so i said why not show you guys how to make it also so this one is my size so i'm just going to use a skirt that i have already to show you guys how to do it simple so as you see i have a skirt if you have a long skirt you would just fold it up so basically i just have my skirt that i have laid on the black fabric and i traced it and i did make it a half inch bigger on each side for when i saw it and then i put i already cut out this piece also as you can see this one i just made really long because this is the back now it is a technique to do to make um so that you can get your corners really neat and what you would do is you just take the the shorter skirt you place it on top of this one now when you pin the side and when you sew the one side the first side i mean when you sew it you do want to stop about here leave an inch of this flap so you would sew it from here to the top make sure you leave an inch and i'll show you why later it's very important for when you hem this if you swallow it to the end when you hem it it won't be neat so and you're gonna do the same to the other side now this is like a five minute skirt it's so easy and fast to make like to trace this and cut it out it only took me probably like two minutes at the longest to cut this out okay so i'm gonna do that i'm gonna sew from here to here on mine then i'm gonna go ahead and put my elastic in the top so what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna fold this over but i'm gonna tuck this edge in just to give it a clean finish if it was mine i would just sew it like that but it's for someone so i'm gonna sew it like that and then i'm gonna go ahead and sew all the way around and i'm gonna insert the elastic and you guys should be expert santa if you've been watching my videos so i'm gonna go ahead and do that and then i'll show you guys the last step okay you guys so i actually didn't even put elastic in my waist because i'm using a stretch fabric it would just fit nicely like that so i just want to show you guys how to do a clean finish on this so as you can see right here this is the outside this is the inside so what you're going to do is your bottom you're going to fold it twice like this and then the side you will fold it twice also like that now i'm going to put a pin in mine see my cute little butterfly pen okay now you will continue to fold this twice and this is the part i want to show you when you get to this corner right here the reason why you left this flat is so you can have a clean cut finish now you will fold this over twice now this part will probably get a little thinner when you fold it over twice and then you will be able to fold this twice so that when it is turned over and then you just keep hitting all the way around see the corner how pointy this is that's what you want so i'm gonna go ahead and finish mine and then i will show you the pictures this is gonna be in a photo shoot so then i will show you guys the pictures at the end so i'll see you guys in a few days
