Please explain how to crochet a ribbed infinity scarf

today I'm going to be showing you how to make a ribbed infinity scarf using the materials in front of you so first things first what you need is two schemes of yarn which is two bundles so this one that I have right here is the Lion Brand yarns the wool-ease thick & quick and you're gonna be needing two of these to make one scarf next you're going to be needing these crochet hooks you can use either one this one is the eleven point five millimeters the letter P and this one is a ten millimeters the letter N and you can decide on which one you want to use for me I like to use the eleven point five millimeters next you're gonna need a threading needle this one you're gonna use to thread which whichever piece of yarn you have left over next you're just gonna need any pair of scissors to cut the thread if you have any left over so the first step we're gonna do is something called a slip knot this is going to be the starting loop of your scarf and there are many ways to make this initial slip knot but the easiest way from me is to simply hold the end of your yarn with your thumb pointer and middle finger and then what you're going to do is you're gonna wrap the yarn around once and then you're gonna take your right hand and the thread and you're gonna loop it through you're gonna slip it through and then you're gonna pull on that loop that you slip through and this it's gonna be your starting loop now what we're gonna do is called training I'm gonna show you how to hold your yarn first so what I do is I wrap the yarn around my pinky and then put it over my pointer finger and I grab hold of this extra yarn so I can keep it in place so chaining is really simple what you're gonna do is you're gonna use your left hand to wrap the yarn over your crochet hook and then you're gonna pull it through the stitch the loop that you mean and you're just gonna keep doing this for about 90 to 100 chains now that you have your 90 to 100 chains what I'm gonna show you next is how to connect your row so the last tree that you mean and the beginning team what you're gonna do is you're gonna go along the row make sure it's going the same way and then that last one what you're gonna do is you're gonna put it through your crochet needle you're gonna yarn over once and then pull that through both of those stitches now this next step is something called a single stitch what you're gonna do is you're gonna skip over the first stitch and then you're gonna go to the next one you're gonna stick your crushing you go through you're going to yarn over once and then pull through one you're gonna yarn over again and pull through two this you're gonna do for every single stitch along the row so yarn over pull one yarn over pull two so once you get to the last few single stitches what you're gonna do is you're gonna connect that new row that you made to the other to the beginning of it by slipping through your hook into one of the loops you're gonna yarn over and then pull through both of them and then you're gonna chain one next what you're going to do is you're gonna actually flip your row over now we're gonna make the rip effect so once again you're gonna skip over this first loop and instead of going through both of these stitches what you're gonna do is you're gonna go to the back back loop so you're gonna put your hook into the back loop you're gonna yarn over one pull one yarn over and pull two so once again you're gonna go to the back loop yarn over pull one yarn over pull two and you're just going to keep doing the same thing for this new rope all the way to the end now once again when you get to the last stitch in your row so this is my last stitch what you're gonna do is you're going to find that loop on the side again of your beginning of the row you're gonna put the needle through yarn over pull through both those and you're gonna chain one then you're gonna flip your row over once again you have to make sure you flip flip your row over because then you'll create this ribbed effect once again you're gonna skip over the first stitch go to the second one go to the back loop yarn over pull one yarn over pull two you're gonna keep doing these steps until you get about however with you want for your scarf I prefer about five to six inches but it depends on what you prefer now when you get to the part where your first skein of yarn is almost ending you have to add on the other skein and to do that I'm going to show you how to combine the two pieces of yarn so if you look here I have um the one I've been working with in my right hand and the new one in my left hand what you're gonna do is you're gonna cross them over like so and you're gonna wrap they'll want the new yarn around twice so one two and then you're going to tie that into a month you're going to pull it tight so it doesn't come loose and then you're just gonna keep working it into your scarf as if it's one piece of yarn I'm going to show you it's just gonna be add it into your scarf and with the pieces of yarn that's still sticking out what you can do is after you're done you can get your neat knitting needle and you can weave this into your scarf now once you get to your desired width of your scarf what you're gonna do is you're gonna close off the end and the starting parts of the row and then what you're gonna do is you're gonna pull your needle to make this big loop and then you're gonna put the end piece of the yarn through it and then you're gonna pull on it so that the it ties a knot and then what you're gonna do is you're gonna take your scissors and you're just gonna cut that piece of yarn and then you just pull on it once again to tighten it up okay your scarf is all done now and all you have to do now is to kind of clean it up a bit by putting these loose ends of your yarn through the different holes so what you're gonna do is you're gonna take your knitting needle and then you're gonna kind of just weave these pieces of yarn through the scarf like so we're just gonna keep doing that until all of that end piece of yarn is gone you
