hello inial pools is Danny today we're going to go out we're going to clean the salt sell for a calm people salt generator so let's go out to the pool before starting please make sure the power to your pool pump is turned off the first thing we do is take the plug off the copy pool salt cell check the leads on the plug they may need to be cleaned out do this we can use a screwdriver to clean out the leads proper connection of these leads is important for the salt cell to work properly we are now going to take the protective sleeve off the copy pool salt cell to do this we first loosen the colors underneath the salt cell next we take apart the protective sleeve and set it aside use a screwdriver to gently loosen the salt cell away from the protective column once loose you can pull the salt cell out of the protective column here we can see some of the corrosion on the salt cell it is near the top and we're going to clean this off we start off cleaning the salt cell with a brush this you'll find we'll take off a lot of the corrosion wear the thicker parts you can use a stick to help get the chunkier parts of the corrosion now it's time to clean a cell in an acid solution we will mix both water and acid in a special container to about a five to one ratio for more information how to build this tube please visit our how-to guides on how to build a cleaning tube make sure you're using proper gloves and eye protection while using this acid solution we now will place a salt cell into the acid solution you want to make sure the head of the salt cell stays out of the acid solution use two sticks to make sure the head stays out leave the salt cell in the acid solution for about fifteen minutes after the fifteen minutes is up take the salt cell out of the acid solution and rinse it in the water we now will put the cell back into its container first add lubricant to the gasket while sliding in the salt cell make sure the wedge notch is on the top next we put the protective case back over the container these just snap back on now we put the plug back in now turn the power back on and you should be all ready to go
