hello again it's I'm barb and it's time for another class this class is all about painting sweet potatoes more accurately sweet potato carvings so let me show you what we're gonna do we're going from something that looks like this which believe it or not that is a carved sweet potato now this particular one's had a coat of varnish on it so it looks a little shiny and a little extra shiny and stuff that's a carved sweet potato so is this one just plain old sweet potato like you'd use for a Thanksgiving dinner been carved this one has been filled in the back a little bit we're gonna talk about that a little bit and then dehydrated until they are literally rock-hard and this is what it looks like when it comes out of the dehydrator once fully dehydrated and then I paint them and so I'm gonna show you how to go from this to this or something close to it but this is one of the carp sweet potatoes that's been painted and turned into a funny caricature when you see them come to life they're just all kinds of they're all kinds of fun here's another one you never know what they're going to dehydrate to look like so here's another one different shape the different shaped potatoes will make different configure they'll shrink down differently they make different configurations you know like this one was a little bit in the shape of a I had a curved shape to it to begin with it when a dehydrated I went into it just a distinctly greater curve shape so anyway that's what we're gonna do that's what we're doing in this class I'm barb Owen in case I forgot to tell you and welcome to how to get creative and we're gonna paint carved dehydrated sweet potatoes today so let's get started
