g'day guys Greg's kitchen time once again no today I was going to show you an Aussie classic you've no it's not Australia but we are very fond of it in fact if you go to a restaurant or a par bore anything like that they'll always be selling it and that's a chicken schnitzel now these things are so easy to make I was going to try and make it with my eyes closed today but I figured I'd better not just in case so I'm going to show you how to make one they're super easy a tastes great and you got a Louisville SoCal let's get started this is Craig's okay so for this all you're going to need is some chicken and egg some cooking oil bread crumbs plain flour and salt and pepper now I've also got a little baggie here which is full of garlic powder I'm going to use some of that too because I just like the flavor of garlic okay so the first thing I'm going to do is get my chicken ready so what we need to do is slice chicken into fairly flat bits about five millimeters thick be very careful when you're doing this because you might chop your hand off how's that good thickness all the way through now this one's a little bit thicker I mean it's totally up to you how thick you want it but just cooks easier when it's thinner and I'll show you what to do if it's a bit too thick for you there's a very simple solution to fix this you just get some plastic wrap put it out like that break some off put fat chicken in fold plastic over get something to hit it with or roll it out and feed it down to the desired thickness okay so now I'm just going to grab a few plates I'm going to break the egg into this you might need a few more than one egg but I'm just using one so I'm not exactly making a hundred I'm just making one for this video's sake so I'll just sprinkle some flour on a plate like that put some bread crumbs on this plate like that now all I do is put that piece of chicken in there like that in the flour shake off the excess throw it into where the egg is like that I mean that's taken no time at all drain a bit of that goo off and then I'll just mix that through like put put it in the bread crumbs except I forgot what I was gonna do well yeah righty-o so I'll take that out what I was going to do is put some pepper a bit of salt and this garlic powder in with the breadcrumbs and now take to put the chicken in the breadcrumbs and make sure you coat it really well and now we've done that all we got to do is head over to the stove okay so now into my beautiful frying pan which isn't damaged at all I'm just going to get speed on first now I'm just going to add some of this cooking oil in I'm going to just shallow fry this chicken schnitzel so we just want to hit that oil up a bit onto a medium heat because you don't want to burning so I'll just see if this is ready to go starting to get a sizzle on so that although so now I'm just going to lay this down gently try not to burn yourself and we're just going to fry that on each side for like two or three minutes but let me just have a little peekaboo of this yeah that's cooking on that side it looks nice and golden to me so now go to that stage I'm just going to gently very gently flip this over oh yeah look at that it looks awesome so now I'm just going to put on a plate I've put a piece of paper there to drain some of that excess oil off but that's it chicken schnitzel die just take a look at that it looks absolutely fantastic I'll just cut it open just see what it looks like inside cooked to perfection right well it looks fantastic I can't wait to try so let's give it a go one more song right away whoa oh so juicy no you know all you have to do is serve this over some mashed potatoes or something an armed man you've got the best meal know stuff the knife and fork oh man mmm well my friends they really do taste fantastic and yes they are that easier to make so make sure you give it a go and let me know how yours turns out well guys thanks for watching and I'll see you next time right here on Greg's kitchen this is Johnny weather - so juicy and so does yeah
