Please explain how to install a 90 degree cylinder in a mortise lock

This is a video on how to install a 90 degree
euro-profile cylinder in a door with a mortise lock. You can see that the cam, or the follower,
of the cylinder is sticking out. We need to move the cam so that it is is line with the
rest of the cylinder so it can be installed in the door. As it is right now, it won't fit. The first thing we need to do is take an allen wrench and
remove the thumbturn from the cylinder by loosening the set-screw. The handle slips right off when the screw is loosened. Now we can access this thin slot on
the back end of the cylinder. Insert the ring wrench and pull the tab in the slot down so you can freely
spin the cam, so that it is flush with the rest of the cylinder. The cam of the cylinder can only spin 360 degrees
when the ring wrench is inserted in the slot. The cylinder is now ready to be installed. Stick the cylinder in through the cylinder hole on the door, making sure that
the keyed side is on the outside side of the door. Also make sure the cylinder is centered in the door. Insert the key and turn until the deadbolt extends and retracts. You may need to lift up the handle in order to be
able to engage the deadbolt if you have a multipoint lock. If the deadbolt can be engaged, you know that
you have installed the cylinder correctly. Take the allen wrench and reinstall the thumbturn on the cylinder. Install the cylinder screw in the edge of the door. Your cylinder has now been correctly installed and
your door is ready to go. To remove the cylinder, remove the cylinder screw from the edge of the door. Then, take an allen wrench and remove the thumbturn so you
can access the slot with the ring wrench. While holding the tab in the slot down, use the keys
to spin the cam until the cylinder slides out. Thanks for watching our video. For more information, please visit our website at www.allaboutdoors.com.
