hello my crafty friends it's jenny from origami tree and today i'll be showing you how to make a spinning back card i started off with a piece of card stock and also a piece of scrapbook paper and these two are the exact same size i took the scrapbook paper and i placed it on top of the cardstock and taped it down with some washi tape and you can also use removable tape as well but washi tapes works really well for this purpose then i flipped it around and i folded the entire thing in half then i opened it up and i took my compass and i drew a circle on the right side of the cardstock now it doesn't really matter how big the circle is this is just going to be the opening where the bat is you can make it as large as you want or as little as you want next i took the x-acto knife and i cut out the circle through both layers then i removed the washi tape and separated the two sheets of paper again then i laid one of the pieces on top of a black card stock it doesn't really matter which one you lay on because the circles are the exact same size and i took a white gel pen this one is by sakura and i traced the circle then i drew a cute bat at the very center of the circle now when you draw this back you want to make sure that it's not touching the actual circle because if it does then it won't be able to spin so just draw a slightly smaller than the circle after that i cut the bat out so now i'm just using the bat that i just cut out as a template for a second one so i laid it on a black cardstock and i cut around it then i took a pen and i drew in the features of the second bat now for this second batch you want to make it somewhat similar to the first one if not identical but if it's not it's okay then take a piece of sewing thread and cut it at a length that is slightly shorter than the height of the card and tape it down with washi tape cut off any excess washi tape that you may have and then glue the scrapbook paper to the cardstock together next i placed some glue on one of the bats and i placed it at the center of the thread inside the circle i lay the second bat right on top then i spun the bat a whole bunch of times to create some tension close the card and open it up for some spinning action now let's watch that again in slow motion shall we so that is it that is how you make a spinning back card thank you so much for watching be sure to check out some of my other videos as well if you're new to this channel be sure to hit the subscribe button and also the notification bell right next to the subscribe button so you'll be alerted when new videos come out i post new crafty fun videos all year round and would love for you to join me leave your comments below letting me know what you'd like to see next and i will see you next time bye
