hi guys this is Steve with homebrew videos calm and today I want to show with you a quick little trick on how to label your homebrew so as you become you know more active and brew more and more batches you need to make sure you know which beer is which especially when its aging and a lot of times home brewers use you know mix-and-match bottles they reuse commercial bottles a lot of them have no label whatsoever so you want to make sure you know what beers is what especially how long has it been aging and your kitchen your closet or whatever you're doing with it and of course if you're taking the share of friends so you really don't want to apply anything to the bottle itself because you're gonna be reusing in the future you don't want to have to clean that up between every batch and you know scrape it off it's gonna get sticky and nasty so what I found or just these little sticker dots you can get at any office supply store or you know drug store whatever and just a magic marker so what I like to do example here is we have a batch of my Christmas ale so I'm just gonna put an X for Xmas and I'm going to attach these to the bottle cap themselves you well there you go x marks the beer right so no matter what I don't even have to take these beers out of a box because I store them you know in a case that you would get from my liquor store whatever and I just open the box and I know immediately looking at the caps what type of beer this is so it's easy and as soon as you know you take off the cap the beer the the beer bottle is completely usable again it's clean you have to scrape off any labels or anything just a great way to label your beer so for more tips and tricks on how to get started with home brewing how to get better at home brewing visit homebrew videos calm this is steve thanks for watching you
