Please explain how to shim needle

hey guys lee here jetley from buelridersonline.com owner of wrap blaster he's parked right over there i'm not moving the camera because it's mounted i'm going to show you how to shim your needle let's see so here's your cv-40 carburetor from your build blast air goes in here air and fuel come out here bowl top take off your take off the top cap of your carburetor keep pressure on it because it is spring loaded that spring is what keeps your slide down there we go there's the spring bogging out i'm gonna grab the whole slide assembly it's held in place by another chemical over here i'll share it with you real quick hi lamar h-y-l-o-m-a-r it is a very very very very very sticky green stuff blue stuff i don't know my colors blue blue get some of that on your fingers only use two fingers because it is like i said very sticky it doesn't come off hardly at all use brake cleaner if you're having trouble getting a gasket to seat to seal to sit to stick whatever put some hialumar on it rub it around the edges and that stuff will stay sticky we use it in our rotary engines all the time for our coolant gaskets now here's your slide slide flip it over everything falls out in your hand now i'm going to grab a different needle because this is a modified needle grabbing a stop needle over here voila stock needle there we go is the camera focusing yeah i think so i'm not sure but anyways there it is now the way you shim your needle is you take your shim and your needle then you put your shim on your needle there you go what this does is this raises the needle off the seat so that the mid-range circuit everything operates just a little bit richer you take your needle with the shim on it flip your slide over drop it down in there and there it is put your little plastic star shaped space from a thingamajigger in there take your carburetor your slide will only go into your carburetor one way voila make sure your diaphragm seats properly again i have hilomar on that so for me it pretty much sticks into place and holds itself there you can get highland oh then put your cap put your cap on and tighten it down just snug it up you can get high lamar from mazdatrix.com rotaryaviation.com or atkinsrotary.com they all sell it it's really not that expensive i don't think it's like five bucks or something like that i use it on all my gasket surfaces makes your hands dirty as hell so also have some brake cleaner on hand i use this uh i'm not advertising the company i use brake cleaner from your local automotive store and now make sure all these are just snugged up pretty good don't want them backing out but i don't want to locked at him either so there you go shim needle on your cv 40 carburetor for your build blast
