Please explain how to de-crystallize honey

hello this is Corinna bench from shared legacy farms and today I'm going to give you a quick tutorial about how to decrease the light honey now if you've ever purchased honey and you notice that it begins to turn into a solid this is called crystallizing you may think oh no I can't eat it anymore it's gone bad it's spoiled and I'm here today to tell you that that is not the case honey cannot soil in fact it has been found in the tombs of the Pharaohs crystallized it is still perfectly good to eat and today I'm going to show you how you can turn it back into a liquid now there are three different reasons why honey my crystallize the first one has to do with the temperature honey will automatically crystallize in the honeycomb if the temperature falls below 50 degrees Fahrenheit so you can control this crystallization a little bit by monitoring the temperature in your kitchen cupboard so make sure it doesn't fall below that another reason it might crystallize has to do with the ratio of glucose and fructose in the honey that's completely dependent on what the bees forage on so it's the glucose that crystallizes so if they're foraging on things that have higher levels of glucose you're going to see you're that kind of honey crystallizing more so typically alfalfa and clover honey will crystallize more frequently and the third reason has to do with the pollen but I'm not going to go into that here so how do you make crystallized honey which is still perfectly good to eat by the way you can spread the solid honey onto a bagel you can put it in your oatmeal or your yogurt or your tea and it'll be perfectly is yummy but if you want to turn it back into the schools and liquid stuff it's a really simple and quick tip basically you're going to take a pot of water fill it up all the way and bring it to a boil on your stove and take it off the stove and let it cool for about five minutes once it's cold you're going to place your jar of crystallized oh that's really hot okra crystallized honey right into the pot just like that where you can stand it up and over kind of takes about 20 to 30 minutes it begins to Christy crystallize you can kind of see it here how turning into a liquid again and eventually it will look just like this guy right here on the right so that's that's it it's a really quick tip just know that it will eventually crystallize again if you don't eat it right away so if you only want to take a little bit out and heat it up that's one way another way to handle and tackle that problem or you can defeat it really fast so defy invention bees and honey you can contact third legacy farms calm and we'll hook you up so please share this video with someone you know who the honey-coated store and if you want to learn more about our csa and you're interested in learning all about how to cook better and change the way you eat you can visit learn more about our csa at shared legacy farms calm how to grade ones bike
