welcome to Katy thing got a nice feeding on for you today we're going to show you how to make homemade mayonnaise why but does it don't like you buy a truckload of stuff and quite frankly it's so simple to make really should and even better this stuff keeps for a week and if you've got a dinner party or something like that how swanky does it look if you just dashed out your own homemade mayonnaise right we're gonna start off with the stars of the show did you know mayonnaise make Meigs eggs I'm going to use actually two egg yolks you don't use the whites for these but you can save the white to make meringue I'm gonna pop in a teaspoon of Dijon mustard cuz that's a really nice kick to it now all you're gonna really need it's a nice little tilt in the bowl and a balloon with I'm gonna start whisking what we're looking to do it's to basically start thickening up the egg yolk it's at this point that you're gonna add in your oil now I've gone for a bit of a mix here of vegetable oil and sunflower oil basically any oil that doesn't have a particular overpowering taste and we're gonna add this into our mayonnaise mix or the startings off and you can add it really really slowly now this is important because if you add it too quickly you're gonna split it it's gonna curl and it's gonna just look horrific and not be particularly edible either so I've got just shy of a pint of oil there now you won't need all of this I could use between half a pint and a pint that we get to play around with a consistent season zero we're going keep stirring and as you do you wanna just let little drops of that oil go in your mayonnaise mix I think it's best that we do a little bit of a sped-up montage but essentially what you're looking for is for that gorgeous mayonnaise start thickening up and get into a really nice kind of dropping consistency off of your always so we've now got to the thickness of kind of like a really thick double cream and it is a still quite yellow one of our final ingredients is going to change that altogether so we've got here some white wine vinegar and we're gonna add in about a tablespoon and mix that in and you'll notice but the mayonnaise starts to pale in color and immediately you get a gorgeous fluffy color to your mayonnaise it's a beautiful consistency it's got that lovely pale color to it as well and you can go one step further and also add a little bit of lemon then squeeze a little bit of lemon in there for some extra acidity just I really like the fresh zing you taste of this particular mayonnaise you want to see who is properly so I'm gonna go for a nice generous pinch of salt and some white pepper here as well get that in and I think people we have a beautiful ready to go homemade mayonnaise but that's okay that's all part of the working out because when you slap that on your BLT it's a nice big recipe well you like this sort of recipe perhaps like you do a few more condiments I don't know let me know in the comments box below if you wanna see more from me in general than anything every single Tuesday so please subscribe look you just join the family anyway until next time guys
