g'day guys Greg here well today is going to show you how to grow coriander also known as cilantro nestled on toe is definitely one of my favourite homes in the whole world it is so useful and versatile to use in all sorts of cooking and I'll tell you what it makes everything taste great so let me show you the best way to grow it so I've gone and bought a cilantro plant from the shops what you'll also need is some really good quality potting mix and cilantro loves a loamy soil so soil it's mixed with clay sand and rich fertile potting mix so I'm going to add some of this sand to the potting mix you want a pretty much even mix of sand and potting mix so I'll just throw that in together and give that a good mix now you can throw straw or bits of clay in there as well but as you can see that's a great-looking mix and that's go alone so I'll just add that to my pot now just gently remove this I'll try not to disturb the roots too much in this because they they are very sensitive and just look out fine they are so I'll just make a little well put that in there like that and then just fill in around the top let that settle on its own just by banging that pot down so that looks beautiful now just water that in always make sure the water is draining out well because they don't like to sit in water these plants they like a well-drained soil and that's perfect now so enter a last full Sun so if you've got a nice sunny spot that's the place for it it'll also tolerate part shade as well so just find the sunniest spot that you can for it now the best time to grow it is in late spring or in autumn and it'll last just that one season now especially not to grow these plants in the summer heat as it leaves a grow in these plants tend to be bitter in flavor Nestle entre was an annual plant which means it only leaves one growing season and then it is off now as a weather gets warmer cilantro will quickly finish its lifecycle it will send up a store which will produce blossoms and then seeds now you can either leave this stalk and let the seeds naturally drop into the soil or you can take the seed pod off and keep it and store it and save those seeds for later on now if you are going to grow the plants from seeds make sure you plant them about six inches apart which will allow ample space for the plant to grow now with my new plant I'll Water it about once a week or until I see the leaves start to wilt and if they start wilting then I'll give them a bit more water now fertilize them about once or twice during the growing season make sure the fertilizer is a good nitrogen based one well I hope you enjoy growing your cilantro remember it will die off so don't panic when it does thanks for watching and I'll see you next time he's Rosie mine he's great garden home
