hi I'm registered dietitian Susie Garcia and today I'm going to be demonstrating how to make delicious soy protein burgers by hand you want to gather your ingredients in advance because there are several of them you'll need some water texturized vegetable protein which is the soy product also called TVP some rolled oats whole wheat flour nutritional yeast oregano and basil organic ketchup minced garlic amino acids or soy sauce mustard and then also some type of nut butter in a medium sized Bowl you'll want to add 3/4 of a cup of water 1 cup of texturized vegetable protein 1/4 cup of oats and then a teaspoon each of basil and oregano next we'll add 1/2 of a teaspoon of garlic granules 2 tablespoons of ketchup 2 tablespoons of soy sauce or the amino acids and then finally a quarter teaspoon of spicy mustard or a DeJohn mustard you're going to combine these ingredients and then let this mixture sit for about 5 minutes for the flavors to develop and then we'll come back and we'll add the remaining ingredients next you'll add the nut butter I'm using almond butter but you could also use peanut butter or cashew nut butter or sunflower nut butter you want to make sure that the nut butter is completely incorporated before adding the final two ingredients and finally you're going to want to add one tablespoon of nutritional yeast and a quarter cup of whole wheat flour and then we will blend this and form it into patties next you want to take approximately a handful of the batter and form it into patties you can make regular-sized patties or smaller patties if you want to do sliders I always like to wear these gloves when doing things like this because it just makes it a lot easier for cleanup and you don't have the mixture sticking to your hands so lightly coat a pan with olive oil and then place the patties evenly in the pan and these will cook for approximately four to six minutes on each side you can serve these delicious soy protein burgers on a whole-grain bun or just by themselves with a side of tomato I'm registered dietitian Susie Garcia with nutrition for your lifestyle find these recipes and more at my blog at n the number for y el com you
