Please explain how to make a tutu

hello my name is Amy and today I'm going to show you how to make no-sew tutus like this one I have right here it's not finished yet but I'm going to be finishing it tonight you will need to make your know so tutus about five to six yards of tulle which is this stuff right here the more you have the better you can never have enough or too much of this stuff because the more you have the fluffy or 22 is going to be you also need your ribbon or you can also choose to use the elastic you can get it pre-cut at any fabric store same with the ribbon I get about a yard and a quarter of the ribbon I found that's about average for the ones i've been making for the little girls in my life and the elastic i would say you want to measure your little girl's waist first and minus about two inches so it gives it a snug fit if you choose to use the elastic but today I'm using the ribbon so what you want to do when you use the ribbon do you want to measure it around your little girl's waist and wherever it measures at you either want to market well I mark it wherever so saying her waist ends right here then i would put knots in the ribbon like so on each side so then you would be putting your tool in between the knots on the ribbon then you also need your scissors some people use measuring tapes but I just eyeball when I do all my cutting my strips so now I'm going to show you how to roll your tool to get it prepared to cut your strips so what I do is I start it about how why do you're going to want your strips I just kind of eyeball it and just do what that looks like about three inches or so I kind of just do whatever anytime I'm rolling but it doesn't really have to be perfect you just don't want any wrinkles in it it's not like you have to fold it and go like this and make sure it's all flat you just don't want any wrinkles and your tool and you just keep rolling it's easier if you use the floor it doesn't look good right now i'm using the table but i'm just showing you how to do it for right now i myself do it on the floor so it's all laid out so you just keep rolling it and rolling until you're all done rolling see it's kind of hard to do it on the table and I would not roll more than 2 yards because then it just i found that rolling two yards after you cut your strips and you have one big long strip it's all you have to do is cut that big launch strip in half if you do more than two yards it gets a little complicating so about two yards to roll at a time is perfect for me at least everyone will have their own preference making your two tubes but so just keep going until you're done and then we're going to cut our strips ok now after you have it all rolled up so it looks like this you want to go to the ends of your tool and see where it's uneven right here you're going to want to cut that off and make it even so make sure you do pretty straight lines if you're playing on you know selling your to choose because you don't want a lot of jagged edges if but a lot of times you know it doesn't really matter because the 22 I find it just to be kind of like not really a messy thing but something that doesn't need to be perfect then when you're cutting your strips a lot of people do about four inches so i would say about you know so I kind of just eyeball it and I cut my strips and and then so here's a strip right here I'm going to unroll it so you have this big long strip right here sorry I have bunch of kids now so might see a couple more video so you're going to take this leg on the strip in your left kind of fold it in half like this kind of get it even and then you're going to cut it right here in half so there you have two strips of tool so here is one strip so this is what you're going to be working with I'm going to do the Slipknot tutus so I'll kind of show you how you do it on your ribbon so and then I'm going to finish cutting that leader so I kind of found that about one yard of tool makes about 18 strips and like I said earlier you can never have enough the more strips of tool that you have the fluffier your tutu is going to be so here I'm going to show you how to tie your strips on to your ribbon or elastic if you choose to use that so you fold your tool and a half and you have like an upside-down you so you have the loop right here so I'm going to take my tool and I'm going to put it underneath my ribbon right then i have my loop right here and i'm just going to pull these strips through the hole and then kind of you know pull it like so and you have it on your strip of ribbon and you continue to do that with all your strips until its all full I kind of my opinion it's about average six to seven or maybe H strips every about inch I kind of just scoot them together because i like mine tight i like it fluffy and then when you're done you can cut it to the length you want I usually do them about cut about that much off at the end because the shorter the poofy or they go so then when you're done putting all your tool on you can add ribbons to your to choose like I'm doing here on this one i will be using where'd everything go you can use the thicker ribbon i choose to use thicker ribbon but this was on sale at jo-ann so i bought this ribbon it's a little bit thinner so weird that peter van Gogh so i'm using what blue jewel and purple and light purple in this 22 i'm going to take pieces of ribbon and i'm just gonna you know tie them on here and i'm going to not i'm too but I'm not doing that yet because I'm I was just doing that to see what it looked like and I'm going to do the dark purple and the what I would say this is what turquoise kind of on around the 22 to add a little bit more for at least two a lot of people put big flowers or even rhinestones on you can just do whatever you want kind of just make your own thing it's all about what you like so that's about what it looks like before it's cut to length no so Slipknot 22 you
