my name is Helen I'm from the crafty so-and-so and today I'm going to show you an alternative to bunting so to start here's a couple of the things I'll be using for the tutorial today fabric scissors playing white thread I have got my chalk marker some small scissors pins at the back the pattern here which is a two inches by three and a half inches semicircle you can use anything round to create a more accurate template so to start with your alternative bunting we are creating the semicircle just a little bit different this is my template here I've used I think I use a tape roll just to create this cut in half and then at least you know that it's definitely around first you want to pick out your fabrics get them ironed priced so the nice and neat and you should cut two of each one once you've got you two you want to put them faces together right sides together and sew around leave this top straight edge open once you've sewn your semicircle you want to cut into the edges to relieve a fabric because it's not natural for it to sit on a stone a circle and around same use of pinking shears that I've got their crib like the crocodile teeth edge or you can just cut into the fabric so once you've done that you can turn it through will rub the seam between your fingers just to get it to the top the very edge and then you can press that I've done a few earlier just to save time next you want to create your bias binding to keep them all together knowing to create your bias binding you won't take you will notice the probably shouldn't stretch much that way and that way but when you put on bias fold it at the diagonal it will have a stretch this is how you create your bias binding it gives more give when you're sewing fold it over and create a two inch channel using your tape measure and your choppin remember when you're creating your bias binding you want to measure how long you're going to need it so you can measure out the appropriate length and so you make sure you've got enough fabric this is what you should be left with I don't need that much for mine and then I'll sleep I'll show you how you connect them you'll connect your edges so that each edge should have a length like this at the end you simply lay them over like so so across here and then that should fold out to create a continuous line so once you've sewn your bias together it'll like that and on the back no to press your seams open then you are ready to serve you strips together so you'll see that I've pinned along the strip and this is the reverse so long here no once you're done you want to take the pins out fold over the seam and press so so as you can see I've ironed and pressed down the scene and also pressed over on this side a small Channel and then that will be pressed over again and that will be sewn in place once you fold it over you should end up with a small probably about a centimeter thick band on both sides it's implicit slip stitches in place I'll just top stitch it with your machine and there you have it it finished product if you've enjoyed this tutorial make sure you give it a thumbs up you can subscribe to capture cap market arrows coming in this way and check out my blog for further details link below
