hey everybody I'm here today to show you how to tie an icicle hitch with rope now this will be a step-by-step tutorial and I will be showing you how to tie an icicle hitch with the end of a piece of rope there are a few different ways to tie this specific type of hitch but this tutorial will be for this tutorial will be regarding using a rope end so you're gonna start off by getting the rope end and the first step is to actually get the rope end and wrap it from underneath and then back around now basically you are going to move in the opposite direction of the load so in this situation we are going to imagine that the load is on the right-hand side so we are going to wrap towards the left now we're gonna continue making four wraps so this is one and we're gonna do a second one and I'm just feeding the rope through as I do it a third one and then a fourth one so now as you can see I have four wraps one two three four and I need a decent amount of slack at the end of the rope so I'm just going to keep feeding some more rope through until I have a decent amount of slack as you can see now I'm going to use one hand to hold these four wraps together sorry about that to hold those four wraps together then I'm going to bring the rope end which is right over here the rope end is going to go underneath the this portion of the rope and then it is also going to be wrapped around the post or the the object towards the right so now I'm working towards the right and I've wrapped it around as you can see now that it has been wrapped around and as you can see I'm leaving a decent gap between these four wraps and this wrap I'm going to put the rope and underneath the this portion of rope once again then I'm going to bring it over the object and in between the four wraps and this wrap and I'm going to wrap it around the object and bring it through these two right here these two little loops so just going to bring it through like that and I'm just going to pull on it to tighten it up and as you notice I am holding these four wraps right here to keep them in a steady position and now I can actually just pull on the end of the rope and the middle section of rope to tighten it up and then obviously just as we said before the load we are imagining that the load is on the right hand side so I'm just going to simulate the load being on the right hand side just like that and that's basically it that is how to tie an icicle hitch with the end of a piece of rope I've walked you I have walked you through the process in a step-by-step manner in this video and if you follow the instructions in this video you'll be good to go and that's all I have for you today thanks for watching
