hi this mat with appliance parts pros comm today we'll be showing you how to repair your appliance remember anytime you work on an appliance make sure it's unplugged or the circuit breakers are off so there's no chance of electrocution also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies in this video we're going to show you how to change out the GE washer agitator coupler kit it's going to be a very easy repair and should only take a few minutes to show you how to do it if you already have one of these great if not you can click on the link below or get it out appliance parts pros comm when you open up the package you're going to get the instructions the new bolt and the new agitator coupler that stator coupler is what goes in between the transmission and the agitator and connects them together the main reason you'll be changing them out is that these teeth in here I've worn out and your agitator is not turning to take the agitator coupler out we have to open up the washer lid and reach down inside to pull the agitator out we want to grip with our fingertips and pull upwards on it so it comes off the agitator coupler if by chance your agitator are stuck on there pretty good and you can't get it off you can run a couple straps underneath the agitator and use those to pull up on it with now the way of the agitator out of the way we can remove the agitator coupler we're going to use our 7/16 chin socket with a long extension and take this bolt out once you have the bolt out you can pull up on the agitator coupler and it should come out here's the old agitator coupler next to the new one if you already have one of these great if not you can get it at appliance parts pros comm the instruction sheet just basically tells you that it's been redesigned and to make sure that you don't reuse the old bolt and you use the one that they gave you to put the agitator coupler back on all you have to do is slide down the agitator shaft till the bottoms out and then you can put the bolt in we can tighten it down with the same 7/16 chin socket so we used to take it out once you have it tightened down you can put the agitator back in to put the agitator in you want to lower down onto the agitator coupler and get it to line up once you have it on you can push it all the way down and snap it into place hello you have the part installed you can close the washer lid plug it back in turn the water back on and take it for a test man thanks for joining us for another successful repair brought to you by appliance parts pros.com check out our other repair videos on our site Facebook and YouTube
