hello this is ruglovermary and i'm going to show you another kind of fringe removal that we do here in shop this is a wool hand tufted rug probably about 20-25 years old and the fringes are just getting a little we call it blossoming when they fry at the end and kind of flare out and then they trap the dirt and this part here is a bit stained so as you can see the fringes are just kind of looped around the rug so they're not actually part of the foundation and what we do is we cut the fringe right about there and that leaves this little knot that we just pull out and loosen and what that leaves us with is this key limb part with holes and if we lift it there the rug will look okay but will it look kind of funny so what we do is we unstitch this part here and then we pull it back and glue it down so the back will have that on it and then the front is left all nice and clean edged with no fringe and it gives the rug a great new look so it could be loved for many more years thank you this is ruglovermary
