hello again this is Margie hair and here I am in my beautiful organic garden with the leeks and a curry bush and of course the celery so celery's a little bit like the leeks it loves to be fed and it's always thirsty sometimes in the morning I can see these little leaves just folding over and I know they're saying please feed me feed me feed me but if you want your celery to grow thick as you buy it in the shop what you need to do is hold it like that and put the soil right up the stem so the stems stay light large green in color they get thick and bushy and just the tops or green so that's how the shops or the farmers get their salary to grow with these big thick stalks that are luscious so as you can see they're quite a young celery they've just they've been in for about four weeks now and I'm going to have to now heat them up if I want tall celery now funny enough I'm happy with the short series I won't I'm not going to heat them all up I'm just going to keep some of them up but that's what you would do if you want big thick stems you just keep keeping it up and next time you come the following week you just hold these stalks together and pack more soil on and you water straight down the core and that water goes straight through into the roots and in fact that way it saves quite a lot of loss of moisture because they are very they're very thirsty plants so for those of you who love planting and working with celery I hope that was helpful so happy celery growing and if you liked that video click the like button and if you'd like more videos or regular videos on organic gardening just subscribe to my youtube channel have a loving earth
