Now I'm going to show you how to properly clean your trumpet. First of all you're going to take your paper towel with a little bit of that denatured alcohol on there. Go ahead and remove any of that old grease, lag grease and oil from your valves. Now of course we're going to use water with this, but here's our slide snake. We're going to go through each of the valves, scrub them out, down your slides here, and, of course, down the lead pipe of the instrument. Now once you've done all that, it is not necessary to run it down the back of the instrument. Once you're all done with that, you want to take your toothbrush and go ahead and do the bottom caps. The bottom caps, right there, clean those off. And then you have your valve brush, and go ahead and scrub out your valves real good with your soap. I like to use this kind of soap because it works tremendously well. And then you want to take your nice sponge and go ahead and wipe it down real good. And that is how to properly clean your trumpet.
