hi this is taylor lebanotti and today i'm going to show you how to draw the comedy tragedy masks so these masks obviously consist of two different faces the overly joyful and the overly sad so i'm going to start by planning out where those two shapes are going to take place for the mask shape i'm just going to sketch out a u almost a v it kind of points into a chin but then opens up the top then i'll make the other one slightly tilted so there's where our max masks are going to take place and then for the top of the mask i'm just going to curve it off a little bit and add some wave to it for both of these guys here and the overall like out the overall outline of the mask can be however you want it to be whether you want it to be a defined face or just a general shape here so that looks pretty good and then i'm going to map out where i'm going to draw the eyes the eyes are going to be almost mid-level but slightly higher i'm just going to draw a line of where that will fall and then halfway between that line and the chin is where i'm going to have the mouths so i'll go ahead and place those in so let's start with the joyful one for the joyful one i'm going to keep leave the eyes nice and open with a very round shape and then follow follow it on the bottom here and slightly raised eyebrow so that when we draw in his open mouth it will seem very very joyful and the mouth is just going to be a semi-circle with a straight top and try to leave the edges of his mouth very smooth and rounded so there's our joyful mask now for the the sad mask the despair i'm gonna give it nice really dramatic eyes still open but have some weird waves to them and then his eyebrows are going to be curving up as if he's about to cry out and then for the shape of the mouth there are many different uh frowny faces you can make i suppose for this we're going to make it curved on both ends which is going to look weird for a sec but once you connect those and have it come down at the top you'll start to see a very tearful face so go ahead and darken the edges of the mask here and now you can start to see the comedy and tragedy mask this is taylor illuminati and this has been how to draw the comedy and tragedy masks
