hey guys I'm Jordan you're watching fix book but 10 SEC's before you started I made this video to help you so please help me it helps you it only takes a second or two it's a great help if you subscribe like a knurled leave comment down below that's it let's get started alright guys so today I'm going to be showing you how to take off that steering wheel on your 96 to 2000 AMA Civic alright guys in for today's job you need a 3/8 ratchet a t30 safety Torx with an extension in the 19 millimeter socket on with the breaker bar and magnets are always handy alright guys and the first thing you want to do when removing your steering wheel is you're going to have to remove your negative battery cable and so that your battery cable is disconnected and the power to your car is off for three minutes now if you don't do this it is possible that your airbag can deploy it and airbags are very dangerous when they deploy so do not forget this step here three minutes the battery has to be disconnected before you can remove the airbag which is necessary to remove your steering wheel okay guys and here we are steering though the first thing we'll have to do is we're going to come over right here to this side I'm going to give you a better camera hang on that and you're going to come and remove the Torx bolt which is right over here alright guys so here we are and this is where we need to be there will actually actually be a plastic cover covering this little area here so you'll need to take a flat head screwdriver pry that off so you can see this Torx bolt we're on that right now next you'll need to take your t-38 socket and extension there with a 3/8 ratchet okay get it spinning the right way and in each ear suck it on there go ahead and loosen it up now let's take it off and then use it like a like a screwdriver so I'm get that off and then on the other side this is a symmetrical creation so on the other side in the same place you're gonna have to do the Washburn's that repeat do the same thing and then you will get both of these guys out and then once you're there this guy right here will just kind of slide out okay guys now so I'm going to go ahead and pull this everybody similar type the ham and what you're going to do now is only after after it's been three minutes since the battery has been disconnected can you disconnect this connector right here or you're going to have a bomb explosion in your lap so once once it's been three minutes go ahead and push down on this guy right here and then you're just going to pull this plug off like that then I set this little guy here to the side make sure you don't lose your Springs here because they will come off so just be careful not to lose this oh go ahead and take them and set these off to tie to you and then we've got this connector right here that we're going to take off so it's a push push pull type thing so you push in it pull it works for me if I use two fingers but I try and show you guys a lot of times I try and show you guys while holding the light or something so I can't do it so we go ahead and set the airbag off this time with yourself here in the - based in and now we've got to remove this Center nut right here not believe it's a 19 millimeter nut so I'm going to take a breaker bar and then I'll take my keys out I'll lock it up like that so I can take this nut off and then we will be able to remove the steering wheel here okay guys so now I've got my 19 millimeter socket in my breaker bar and I'm just gonna break it loose it and then you go ahead and pull it up got that nut off right thing now I don't think anything else is bolted on or shoot in so it's gonna be on there pretty good so you might have to be a little bit to get it off that [ __ ] there we go now you can see it's sliding up and we're gonna have to remove this other connective should slide right up oh and another thing I forgot to tell you got is make sure these two up on the wheel so that when we got to put it back home we don't mess with the placement in relation to the steering there sure when you're driving straight down the road you want the steering will be straight and not like halfway is it put it right right out there so we can set this I'm taking my steering wheel I'm gonna set it off to the side well guys that's all there is to removing your steering wheel just make sure when you go to put it back home put it back on exactly how you took it off if not you'll end up going straight down the road was something like that so make sure put it back on so you have this when you get it straight down the road well thanks for watching guys and I'll see you next time well guys unfortunately that's all the time I have for today I hope you guys enjoyed this video just as much as I did making it and fortunately you can catch me again right here on Facebook tomorrow on my next video just don't forget to subscribe like and leave lots of comments down below well thanks again you guys for watching and see you tomorrow right here on Facebook
