this is how we start you can uh organize it into and interpret it into yeah you need more ink i will use more ink just put some more ink i usually put the ink first so that the the color and the ink went into each other okay now we're going to dry mount this landscape we just ditch with a toxic glass it's still thin so uh it's still damp so we need to be a little careful you want it to be a little dryer are you saying no we can do it as it's wet because otherwise we have to spray some water so it's good to have some moisture although we call it the dry mountain but just like you iron a shirt you have to wear something yes just a little bit moisture and is that not not really wet damn yeah not special and what is this paper curl it's a silicone silicone paper on the back this is uh with this release paper on it will be yeah we place it back in paper or release paper this is adhesive and it will be hit activated with iron and this is the painting this is a paper without a silicone film we recycle it just for protecting the otherwise the color will stick on the iron right so the one on top is just to protect yeah just you can use a new piece of newsprint or join paper instead of the paper that you use okay so now we just just position it correctly just to be a little careful with the color is still wet yeah you cannot move around you have to hold it okay the temperature is instead it's set to silk okay and the wall okay in between i think and no water just dry ice no steam just heat it's a 1 8 180 fahrenheit it just take a few practice before you do an actual masterpiece oh that'll be a while the good thing is i haven't signed it right i can still do detail work after it oh it won't change the absorbency of the paper you can still paint it it's just like the shikishi board is still absorbed tsukishipod is a pre-mount board with rice paper surface now it's flat so you can paint more detail without the wrinkles you can write in the sign and the silicon doesn't affect the absorbency of the paper in any way um it will it will block the other side so the paper won't penetrate through to the to the but it doesn't affect it doesn't affect the surface do you have to control how wet it gets or does that not make a difference um not really i i mean you're going to continue to paint oh yeah yeah good point when you continue to paint you don't want to make it come in like you wouldn't do a heavy wash because you don't want to do heavy wash but regular painting is okay if you if you make it floating on the stairs make it it will um if you reach the point where it's completely soaked it may separate you know just like uh the the paper yeah just on a plastic film but you could spray and and and damn and damp dry at this point yeah you could you could use a waterproof brush yeah you can still you can still iron it back in that if that happens okay if it separates i can show you the so we don't need this wheat paste this is the birds oh yeah yeah yeah there they are yeah so uh you can you can release the the backing and then transfer it onto a watercolor paper or bristol board or foam board you can leave it on uh if you will but you can also oh i thought you left it on the paper yeah just double it so we used another piece of exactly the same paper to double it you get that you iron it again it sticky in the back it is sticky in the back so we have a silicone attached to the painting now so this is good okay yeah again now you have the protecting piece from the back of the silicone okay okay this time no water because it's already flat you don't have to spray any water the first time the paint me the painting was wrinkled with wrinkles so you can spray some water to relax it if it's dry but since it's still damp we didn't do that we skipped that part right no it's a perfectly flat no ring wrinkles but you can still see the texture created earlier oh that's terrific it looks it's still wet that's the beauty of rice paper 100 years from now people can still feel the you know the same as you did wow it's still wet like you just did and how and the 100 years from now this is not going to fade no no no no i'm talking about this this oh this is mineral color so it's a very stable color the brown also is from the red the red soil or the yellow soil so it's very stable traditional color should all come from natural stone or plants so it's relatively stable chemicals the ink is permanent of course it will stay yeah that's that's right wow and it doesn't feel like you've done i mean it still feels like a thin piece of paper exactly so uh so how often you can use the silicone that's done that's it right yeah each sheet is yeah it's the silicone right right you can okay you can you can um put another silicone and mount make it a thicker like a board you don't have to because uh you can iron it onto a board now it's a frame ready so you can put it you know wow in a match and behind a match are just the a float in the middle of the frame um it's a good question you i think we we didn't really i am at this standpoint you know you can still separate but when it's firmly um it's not sticky like glue the silicone so peel off theoretically if you warm it up you can peel it off um but be careful it's a craft it's not it depends on your your experience it's great for scars you can use this for clutch so with a diet paper or some you know just color you can you can put the silicone and back and then you cut it into pieces and then collage onto a different paper i used to do that you can also make a patches if you don't like a spot you can you can just take it out and then make a patch iron another piece cover it yeah you can just you can do that before you there's many ways you can play with that because it's a dry paste you know not messy as a wet monkey there's no time if you uh wait to see the drive i love that i love that it looks like a little mountain pass yeah so let's just come out naturally wow interesting what's really interesting too is that if you don't do too much with it that you do the work yourself as your audience yeah you know it's not oh yeah micro managed my principle you stop before you think is finished normally under 70 percent how do you know what seventy percent that looks like another thirty percent is white emptiness yeah you shouldn't need this for a cloud the sky the maybe clouds and mists yeah atmosphere or just the white stone highlights you know so you're so you're saying that you're the the seventy percent is how much you paint and the thirty percent is the white the white space uh suggested uh for clouds and the we quite cheap the energy flow of energy yeah the negative space should be at least 30 percent thank you that's great to know thank you now we're going to sign this painting to finish after a dry mountain you can still do some touch-ups like you can add a tree uh flying birds or something but i just leave it as it is now we'll just for the short signature you can put it in here i just put the signature in landscape we need to sign in small letters a small characters and use a small seal to the painting i mean this landscape looks big if you use a large seal then it looks i got it interesting so we use small seal is that your name yeah my last name the uh this is my studio and then the red chalk the red thing the right hand is my last one yeah you can put more seals as we call moody seal to just balance the the composition sometimes to to drive your eye back you know to into the focus you can normally if you do the seal here you can do another seal on this side somewhere how can you tell in terms of bounds it's just a uh or is it just your opinion yeah just like a fill yeah that's fine this is my studio awesome and is that just a really thick paint the red yeah it's a cinnabar ink all your base so you will cover this you can cover the ink what do you think should i put here or here it could be anything a saying or some phrase like okay my student name chili is from the home uh so after stirring my lunch uh reading my books or something like that so we have some veggies is that the same for blue heron yeah blue herring is a uh different uh as for a business this is my study i used when i was in college i used this as my network name on internet too okay that gets some you know add a red color basically to the code just create more vibrant contrast okay that completes the entire painting you
