hi always all again today i'm going to show you how to do a gutter leak um and this is what we've got here this one at the end here looks like a sieve on mine i've been meaning to do it for a while and they have old square line there and it's probably going to be a job to get any washers for that they may still be available you can check but the way i do it is uh using good old solid mastic so if you've got any joints at all uh couplings as well uh this is the way i always do them so first we just pull the end off because mine's just an end it is an easier one to do and that leads us like this now we've got it before we do anything here uh is to clean this entire piece up here before we can apply any mastic or any sealant at all um also the inside of the edges all got to be cleaned away before we can apply anything uh what we're looking at there is the washer joint in there that rubber is probably well gone now important part is make sure the outside of the gutter is clean and dry mustn't be wet at all okay dry it off because that's where our seal is going to be made around there i also make a point of cleaning the inside so it slides in easily so here is our joint here that i've taken off the gutter um what i do got the rubber out now if it just sits in there you can see that it just sits there pull it out dry it all off get all the muck off inside there and clean the rubber as well if you can get a hold of a new rubber then all the better uh get a new rubber but if in this case it's got pretty old um i don't be able to get anything for that so i'm going to get out the old mastic gun here is that boy so first of all we're going to put a bit of runner master ground in here for our washer to fit in first so we're just pushing all the way in onto our mastic all right so she's right back where she is and we're ready now to go back on the gullah but before i do that again i'm once again going to apply another liberal amount of mastic on the actual rubber i use clear you know you won't see it then uh when it's up there right so just reminds now to put our end piece on show you on the ground and that as i say is that we should have a nice dry job there now
