dawn from florida coastal cooking and this is a kohlrabi from Cairo k yv farm so this is what I kohlrabi looks like i am going to first cut off these leafy top parts and wash these and then spin them dry and set them aside so let me do that quickly so here's where the tops look like you can use these in may be mixing with spinach and saute them or you can try the raw you just wash them in your sink and then you're going to rip off the stem like this so you would end up with your leave so then you just set that aside and then I'm going to take you over here to show you hopefully you can see this ok so here's my bulb and I just rinse this off to try it and then what I'm going to do is cut the top off here I'm going to save this top and put it in a freezer bag with all my other vegetable scraps to make broth and I'm going to cut around the edge i'm going to use part of this kohlrabi for soup and then i'm going to use part just too much on at work i'm going to eat it raw so it tastes a little bit like broccoli i think or maybe hit them up and you can just cube it or you can shred it there's a ton of different things you can do but try it raw guys first because you just kind of want to see what it tastes like it's got it's a little bit um it's real light and it kind of reminds me of the texture of an apple maybe or a little bit firmer but I hope you enjoyed this and please let me know if you have any questions just shoot me an email at chef dawn at hotmail com
