Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village,
I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to saddle your horse with the western saddle.
So now we are going to place the western saddle on the back. You can see we have placed the
cinch over the seat of the saddle and the stirrup over the horn. So this would enable
us to very easily and gently pick this up and sit this on her back. We want it sitting
right above her shoulder, we want our stirrup hanging about even with the back of her shoulder.
So once we do this then we can let down this stirrup really gently on the other side. That
is the proper way that you would want to place that on there that is going to be most comfortable.
You never want to drop it directly on the horses back cause that is going to startle
them or really make them hate getting saddled. Cause that would be really really uncomfortable
for them. So we just want to place it really gently and we want to place it right on the
proper place, right above the shoulder. So that is how you would want to place your western
saddle on the horses back.
