Hi, I'm Will Taylor. I'm the author of Maggie and
Abby's Neverending Pillow Fort. This book is pretty much
about two best friends. They've actually been recently reunited
after being separated by summer camp. And they build pillow forts,
find a way to link them up, so they can crawl from one to the other
without any grownups knowing. And just when they're having fun with
that, they discover that their little sofa fort kingdom is already
inhabited by other kids. I'm just gonna talk a little bit about
what makes for a really good pillow fort. Your basic models are gonna be built
around a sofa, if you can use one, or a table. Tables, you obviously start with the sheet
just draping over the sides to create the four walls. The nice thing about sofas though,
is that if you pull the main cushions off, you automatically have that extra
storage space, or sleeping area. And you can use the cushions
you took out as walls. So that's always a really good one. Nice things to build into any fort,
if you can, is a place to put stuff. An arts and
crafts corner is always really useful. If you can get a couple of houseplants. I used to do that when I was a kid,
it adds a lot to a fort. Of course, lighting is useful in forts,
it can get pretty dark in a pillow fort. Especially if you've got really good
walls, and if you're under a table. The best thing, of course,
is twinkle lights. Okay, and here's another tip too. Whenever you can,
involve at least one scarf, usually two. You'll find out in
the book when you read it. But sometimes scarves can add a lot more
to a pillow fort than you were expecting. You're never too old to build a pillow
fort, and it's never too late to start.
