Please explain how to make a zebra puppet - sock puppet zebra

and now let's learn how to make your very own zebra puppet and now let's take a look at the materials you'll need to make the zebra puppet alright the first thing we're gonna need is a sock I've got a striped sock but if you have a white one that could work too I've also got a big piece of black felt and I've got a black pipe cleaner and I've got two pieces of white pom-poms and two small black pom-poms a couple of googly eyes and I've also got some construction paper I have white black and red construction paper for tools we're going to use some glue some tape a pair of scissors a black market and now you've got everything you need to make your very own zebra puppet so let's get started now the first thing we do when we make puppets is we make the mouth so we're gonna take two pieces of paper I've got white and black cardstock they're the same size and I'm gonna fold them over so now I have four pieces of paper and I'm gonna put my fingers on the paper and draw around my fingers because where does my hand go in the puppet goes up inside the body and my fingers move what part of the puppet the mouth right so here we go drawing a nice semicircle notice how the semicircle is connected to the outer edge so I don't have to cut the outer edge just cut this rainbow shape very carefully I'm cutting out my rainbow shape now I've got all four pieces of my mouth so first I'm gonna take the white pieces and I'm going to tape them together along the straight edge so use a piece of tape and I'll give just the tiniest amount of space in between the two sides so let me tape the other side it hasn't been taped yet here we go all right now we have a mouth that opens and closes so what's next we need to glue these black pieces of paper onto the white pieces and then we'll be ready for the next step okay now I've glued the black semicircles down to the white mouth shape and now I'm ready to add the tongue so I've got a red piece of paper and I'm just going to draw a big u-shape that'll fit inside the mouth of the zebra puppet so here is my big u-shape now I'll cut it out using my scissors very carefully cutting it out and now I'm gonna glue the tongue inside the mouth and now you're ready for the next step so now we're ready to fit the mouth into the sock so I'm gonna put the sock on my hand and find out where my mouth wants to be that's in between my thumb and my fingers see you there I know exactly where the mouth should go the thumb is where my tongue goes and the fingers is where the top of my mouth goes tada now your puppet has a mouth now let's make the eyes for our zebra puppet so I've got a sticky back eye and I'm gonna put it on my white pom-pom and then I'm gonna do that with the other one and then I'm gonna glue the eyes right behind the mouth on my zebra puppet and now you're ready for the next step so now we're ready to make the eyebrows so what are we going to use how about pipe cleaner we'll cut a small piece of pipe cleaner about an inch or slightly more than an inch then I'm going to bend it into a C shape and I'm gonna place it on top of the eye then I'll glue it there in place so what's next I think we need to put something along the back of the Zebras neck what would that something be how about the mane we'll put a mane of hair along the back of the Zebras neck so I'll use my black felt first I'll fold it in half and I'm gonna cut lines halfway down all along the Zebras made cutting little lines halfway down no further than that starting to look like a zebras mane huh so now this is going to get glued down and you'll stick it on the back of the zebra and now you're ready for the next step all right now you've got the mane for your zebra puppet it's glued all the way along the back of the Zebras neck and each hair sticks up just like a zebra so what's next we're gonna glue on the nostrils on the front so I've got some black pom-poms and I've gotta put them right here so now we'll glue those in place and we're ready to move on to the next step so what's next I think the zebra needs some ears don't you so let's get a white piece of paper doesn't have to be very big and I'm gonna fold it in half and now I'm gonna draw an ear shape but what does e brassieres look like well the way I'm going to draw them is kind of like an s-curve going backwards that meets another s-curve going forwards that's the shape it's kind of like a rocketship or a light bulb something like that now I'm going to cut this out okay so now I've cut out these little fish shapes and those are my ears and now I'm going to decorate them with stripes using my marker so here I go I'm drawing kind of a curvy line for the stripes and that's how the edge of the ear looks then I'm going to come down and draw another set of lines color them in and one more stripe at the bottom if you want you can outline this whole ear shape the black line now do that again for the other ear trace along the outer contour and now we've decorated the ears and we're ready to glue them where should we glue them on our zebra puppet anybody have a good idea I think the best place might be right in between the eye and the mane so what I'm going to do is fold the end over so I have something to glue and I'm going to glue it right there and I'll glue the other one on the other side in the same place between the eye and the mane great job now you've made your very own zebra puppet
