I've got a swamp back here lots of mosquitoes we're going to hit 100 degrees today and I've got a white zipper pull that we're going to convert into a fishing pole and see how it goes all right starting off here with our bike you look in for up the top here it'll melt it in there one on the other side foot just trying to disassemble this like all our other products you know pop that loop over a little melted end use your teeth fight it get sticks use a knife if you got one whatever it takes and then just keep on tying one at a time here work your way down about halfway there you can see here pop this leaf off of there and this guy should slide right out and that's your little fishing Department get back to that just minute just finish on assembling all this all right here we've got the lengths of gutted paracord so use that to tie these split rings onto a pole and use that as a little eyelet show you how to do that in a minute and here's the heart of it all in focus yet so this is a roll of oil it contains all your little fishing components try and keep it intact the best you can because it works as a flashy attractant to the fish so long as I can pour this together here droplet sinker all right so split shot wait here got a little bundle of fishing line you open that up let's see there's a hook in there pull that guy out on the ground drop it and this is all ten feet of fishing line you see up at the top opens maybe here's the top there's a loop around it you just want to find separate it so the top loop there holds it all together so it's in a usable loop it's just an overhand knot around it so you undo that and you've got a nice usable coil of fishing line quick shot here all your little components and it's all contained in our bite zipper pull so I went ahead and cut it off the melted ends of the paracord here and I'm gonna show you how you get a lot more line out of this lot more usable stuff spray out these ends here takes a little patience but not nearly as complicated as making natural cordage we don't see a lot of people doing this not sure why so we've got a little album on our Facebook page you can make nets and whatever whatever else you can think of out of this quarter inch but paracord sheets are made up of 32 individual strands you can see them all starting to come apart here and there just a yarn so it's not actually attached together but they stay in relatively nice little bundles and once you get a couple inches out of it I'll show you a little trick here that makes it easier need enough to get a good wrap on something working this out and give this a shot and see if that's enough to work with so grab a little stick try and isolate one of your strands and give it a couple wraps around the stick so it holds itself on there try and wrap it back over itself so it gets a good grip on the stick and so I let your Pleasant screen there okay once you get a good grip on that stick you can spin it that gives you a handle and you can just keep working down down the sheet and it allow you to pull out one one strand at a time here so alright so there you go you can see I got one of these strands out we focus again so there's one strand individually and then to keep it from fraying more I want to do is just come in here pop on a quick little overhand knot at either end just like so and then that'll keep that from fraying anymore or if you'd prefer you've got tons of tiny little strands within this yarn so that's what you would use to hang a needle on for navigation or something just tiny little fibers really all I need is one of these strands so I'm going to leave the rest of my paracord together it's easier to carry that way and I don't even need this whole thing so I'm just gonna go ahead and cut it in half and set the other piece aside pop another overhand knot in here there's a couple of ways here ideally what I want to do I've got we've got a bamboo rod here that I got along is eight feet maybe but essentially we're going to use the flip rings if I can find where I put them these are split rings to make a little eyelet out here at the end it'll make fishing a lot easier so there's a couple methods of doing this you can use the larger split ring and slide it on if your sticks wide enough here at the end you can just bash that passing that on there but what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and just lash on this tiny one I'll tie it on the end there so if I separate these two that'll allow me to actually use this larger split ring for something else so throw a pole for a second just put a little lick the end of the threads there makes it easier to thread through the eyelet and come over your pole you go ahead and use whatever not you prefer to fasten this guy on here a little constrictor knot and I'm going to go ahead and just cut off this excess here so it's not interfering later on so got this guy fastened on here and that'll allow us to run our fishing line out through the end of the pole so the fishing line can jig up and down just from the end here and what I'm hoping to do go ahead and undo this guy so like I mentioned you get a little loop here if you undo that overhand knot at the top of it then this comes undone and unwind all your fishing line no knots no mess okay get to the center loop of it there and just work back to one of the ends all right so I've got one end here I'm just going to thread that through my eyelet and then this back end of it this is where I'm going to use my bigger split ring so I'm just going to tie an overhand knot on a bite to get a little loop and then I'm just going to hitch that on to my split ring so what this does for me is this secures my fishing line so even if I drop the back end of this see where we at here even if I dropped the back end and something's pulling on the line that big split ring can't go through the little one so I'll never lose hold of it and then it allow me I can pull on pull on this piece to dig the lure up and down got my piece of foil here that I pulled out earlier I went ahead tied my hook on the end got the split shot at it on there and really I mean it'll probably depend how you get the aluminum off of what shape you're going to be left with but honestly all you want to do is just kind of put it on here in a way that you hopefully won't lose it and kind of want it to be a little goofy shaped anyway and have a little sporadic motion to it and that'll hopefully attract the fish let me go ahead and pop it up over the tip of the hook there just to keep it from sliding back and a little twist or something and hopefully you know that'll be enticing enough to catch a fish the problem is I don't even know if there's any fish in this water so I'll go toss it in the water see how it looks and maybe we'll catch something maybe we won't get back to you well I got caught in a tree and lost my foil so there you go find some insects or something okay I got a cockroach and a bobber give that shot charge the battery pack you won't even let me well it works that's edible okay guys improvised fishing hole with a bite in a swamp equals turtle we used a cockroach for bait and this little guy got him we unhooked him he's good to go we're not going to eat them and we'll set them back in the water but hey it worked and we could have had dinner there so outcome Justin I'll come successful success probably the heat only manageable game you could have gotten added into the turtle and you gotta finish gotten a turtle and we've been here for what maybe a couple hours to leave it overnight good to go I just thought of something here I mentioned earlier I put the big split ring here so that doesn't go through the little eyelet up at the top and I ended up when I was using it just leaving this kind of up at the top most of the time just so I could get more fishing line in the water and get a little farther offshore but what you could do is use your paracord sheet and all those little individual strands tied them on here and it allow you to extend your fishing line or you're connected line there's one hanging right there real thin so you could extend that all the way back to your hand get you know more the fishing line in the water so even though you've only got 10 feet of fishing line you've got 2 to 3 feet of all the the cores and you know there's 32 of those so you can get quite a bit extra line if you need to tie it off on the bank or something like that so successful we caught a turtle awesome it works the bite is always there when you need it hook it on a zipper and someday could save your wazoo till next time you
