Please explain how to make coffee in a percolator

hey everybody it's Brad Krista with the big family homestead and in this video we're gonna share with you a wonder of wonders and miracle of miracles we're gonna show you how you can make coffee the Java the Joe the the go-go juice sends electricity using well another thing a coffee percolator regular old coffee percolator here we go so a little bit ago we had a power outage yeah and I was sans coffee and I wanted coffee and coffee Doug garnet wanted me so we figured we'll go ahead and make a video showing you guys how you can you know use a regular old coffee percolator for camping you know preparedness you can use this on a cooktop stove top anything that you can make a flame with and well I'm just going to show you the whosits and the what's it's on the inside and the in the goes into some that comes out us here we go alright so what we have here is a basic regular old run-of-the-mill no-frills percolator and what you got is a little viewfinder top there but inside here you've got a silver basket right yep the coffee is gonna go in there and you see these little holes your you would you could put the coffee right into there but the issue is gonna be some of the coffee's gonna get out of there cuz it's smaller and then into here and then it's gonna make your coffee grainy and yucky so we have come up with this ingenious plan well mama did yeah and so you just take a regular old filter and you're gonna poke a hole and it's gonna fit right into this basket yep just like such tell the hole right here maybe put that in there like that just like that so now the coffee's gonna go any here so we're gonna go ahead and load this up we're gonna get our water in here and then we're gonna get to the stove so first things first you're gonna put about a quart of water into your percolator and those holes down there make sure you don't go above these little holes because otherwise you're gonna have coffee brewing outside of your and bubble it out and make it a regular mess yes so now the coffee goes in now you're gonna load your coffee ooh make it strong baby for ya and you have to be very careful not to get it down in there else it's just gonna put the coffee straight in your water into your water so you can make this as strong as you want but we're going for a a nice bold roast into the pergola dramatic now we're gonna close it up and onto the stove let's roll so we've got our wood stove nice and hot actually if you come up here and look the stack here's saying 300 degrees and I got one of these laser finders our laser temperature gun thingies and we're gonna test the top right here and the top is at 307 306 degrees so it should have no problem boiling that up right away on the stove goes the percolator and if you'll notice we're putting it right on the cooktop if you got other items sometimes you'll want to use a trivet but for this we just want it to go ahead and get boiling and you're gonna want it to boil for a couple minutes till the color will change on the top there and we'll show you what that looks like so now you can see that it's starting to boil however it hasn't been going long enough to have the right color it's not been brewing long enough it's not coffee yet nope it's just water with a little bit of hooch in it so this has been going for about 10 to 15 minutes the color is looking just about right so it should be done so you simply pour it out of the spout into your mug lookee there it's good coffee that looked really good looks really rich the Joe has been made here we go bottoms up bold just like your husband yes you are no you know I don't like coffee so there you have it folks coffee without the old electricity easy to do get a percolator for those of you who are you know prepared minded folks all he needs a heat source and poof you can have the go-go juice so if you don't mind sharing the video like and subscribe you know whole the whole whole whole yada yada and yet be Skippy so I'm Brad I'm Krista you guys have an amazing day
