thank you very much you're into making another cane yep oh wow so oh my goodness look at these beautiful canes so what kind of wood do you use everything oh look at oh look at that one that is pretty oh my maple it's probably two or three years old right now so you kind of ahead of time and just let them dry up oh i've been peeling out some that i cut yesterday the longer they dry the harder they are ah i tried to get them fresh but that don't always happen yeah yeah so you can demonstrate how you do all that huh oh that's one of the old tools isn't it it's an old old raw shave both found in antiques to stores oh super and this is what they call a shaving horse okay yeah i built it but it's an old fashioned design they used used to have drawer shapes that were probably that wide yeah this is what they they put a board on here yeah and they cleaned the boards before they had powered cleaners yeah yeah make the old type furniture the finished finisher yeah wow look at that aren't they beautiful do you have to keep sharpening the blades and everything a lot or that it's pretty dull just feel that yeah really but yet on the wood it didn't look like it was yeah the sharper it is the more it digs in yeah oh okay i can make it dig in by going yeah but you don't want to do that yeah all i want to do is just get underneath the bark and yeah back often and of course the wood has to be at least a year old before you can sand it ah if i had to peel that out when when it was green right it would be almost white yeah yeah but uh leaving it does it crack up if you do it too soon though taking the bark i have very very few problems with that i i put them in a garage and yeah the sun yeah and every once in a while i've got probably five six thousand of them at home drawing peeled out yeah and uh probably out of that many i might have two or three that might crack on me or something like that yeah very very few so you sell these at all the fairs or yeah do you have a website and everything i have a business card up front oh okay and i don't know one ground fare oh god dick sticks so i do the folk festival in bangor oh good yeah there's a common ground fair in the fall right north no portland fair and tomorrow we'll be at the vfw in winslow oh okay yeah tomorrow i get around a little bit there you go just a hobby yeah the state doesn't agree with me but because they say if i do more than one show a year it's business oh okay okay well i said that isn't the business supposed to make money did you take all the money that i spend on crafting you're not getting properly paid right take i'd have to go the opposite direction you'd have to take the money that i spend and take my sticks out of it and i've been i'm in the hole but yeah but it's a hobby that's that's what it really is wow look at that in the woods finding sticks and that does a lot of walking yeah which is health for your health yeah yeah keeps you active and everybody has to do that when it's retirement time it's better to me just than sitting around waiting for people to come by my sticks this demonstrates how i do it and correct very good a lot of people like to see things being worked that's true wow how often do you have to sharpen that that is just going like over there like i already asked him that one that was a good one oh look at that even some door knobs and it's not really oh my god it's actually a knife no just glued it down inside i glued it down inside look oh that is so cool 50 caliber bullet now that's a lot of creativity in this look at this i like this look at
