hey guys it's the record and what I'm going to show you today is the 2004 GMC yukon denali I need to replace the Bose amp that is in this vehicle so I'm going to show you how to replace is this Bose amp that I got from a junkyard because a new amp from GMC is six hundred and fifty five dollars plus about four hundred dollars for them to put it in so you're going to get about a cost of eleven hundred dollars to have this baby swapped out my amp is no longer working it's drawing too much power from my battery it's killing my battery every night and so I need to pull the actual fuse out of the fuse box so I don't kill my battery or mess up my electrical system anymore so this is right under the console I take the console out permission solve my brother make sure if you get one of these from a junkyard that they have a guarantee on it that this is since this is an electrical component that it's guaranteed to work and you can get your money back if it for some reason it doesn't another thing is that this is out of an Ohio escalated for this Oh for GMC the same and will be for years 2003 to 2006 whether it's a Yukon Denali or it's a Cadillac Escalade the big thing that you got to make sure is the same is the part number one five one one four four five four your model vehicle may be a little bit different but for mine this is the part number for this vehicle alright so get your tools let's do this okay first thing first is pop the hood and we want to take this view is out I've already taken the fuse out but it's a 30 amp that goes right here disconnect your ground from your battery since we're working with electrical components so remove that first now one thing you may want to do is get a couple clamp lights to help with light for when you take this console out because you're going to need it okay so first thing pop this console and let's take out all the loose components that you can because we're going to have to get to a lot of different areas so remove any loose parts so off the back of the console you can see down here there's some screws to be removed you got four inside of the console there's four right here and then there's also screws here on the edges the console it might not be one right there one thing to know is that when you take these screws out make sure you don't strip them because they're really in there tight and you really got to break them free and make sure you have that screwdriver in there firmly and that you don't strip them because otherwise you might be screwed alright just like that as you can see they're pretty they're in there pretty pretty tight so I went ahead and took the console top off because I think it's going to be a lot easier to get this piece out just take those screws out right there next thing to take off is these two pieces there are two separate pieces and they just pop off because they're overlapped on top of this console tray so these parts need to come off just grab a corner actually just use your screwdriver be careful so you don't mess up the trim at all see they just pop out may have to just pop up your dash trim just a little bit so that you can get to this one to build a slide this one off and remember you got a cigarette lighter cord to detach okay so just use a screwdriver to pry this this was this part it was overlapped over the tray you just use a screwdriver be gentle and your degree should pop up remember you've got your extra power source wire that you need to take off and once you get that off we're one step closer you can see the amp down there and I think we got a good match so as you can see here on the back of the console you've got two screws here that were hidden by the console a that you just took out and you've got to take that out first before you can take the bond back of the console off okay now you can just lift this back section off and remember he's got a couple of wires here that you need to disconnect before you can completely get this out of the way okay here's a helpful hint hopefully you don't have to run under this problem like I just did but on the back of the console or you have your radio console just take that flip it over this back wire here to be able to take that off you've got to tilt this part of the clip as far back as you can because there's a little hook underneath and then you can remove the whole plug tilt it back till this gray part back pull it out see it's got a hook so all that's off we're a little bit closer to being being able to get in there and remove that amp okay so to get down there and get the rest we're gonna have to take some more screws out there's one here and then there's some on the inside there's one here one here and here we have to take these sides off to be able to get down there because this metal bracket is underneath this plastic bracket which is attached to the sides of the console so you need to move your seat back to get to the screw down here so you need to connect your battery again so a screw that I'm talking about and there's also one back there as well so you have to take those screws out then you need to go to the other side of the console and do the same thing so when you take those side screws out of the console it's got these little pop buttons so you just kind of pull on that just pop it down the side move your seat back and then this whole panel should come off the side so just keep popping down the side pop down the side and you're very careful because this last part right here is really in there and you don't want to have to take this out so you can just wedge your screwdriver in there too big to make sure you can get this out without breaking anything so now we've got screw here and a screw here to take out and I'm sure it's the same on the other side when taking off this side looks like is a little wire attachment I'm not sure what that is let's go to the radio some kind of sensor or something so to take this side panel off I found is easier to take off this front panel just two screws on the bottom pull that off and I can pop so we're almost ready to pull this centerpiece out let's lift it up but there's two bolts right inside there right above the disk changer as you can see you can pull the console out and there's really no reason to take this out because it's attached by one more wire that goes up to the six disc changer so all you need to do is just tilt it out of the way so that you can get to the amp which is right there or take that metal bracket off okay so now to take this metal piece off we're going to get to that screw right there right there and if I can get to it right there there's one on each corner and right there and pull this metal shroud off that covers the amp alright the moment I've been waiting for pull this off Dada yes I just saved $600 for the amp 450 bucks to have a GM guy put it in for me so let's switch that baby out will tell you one thing I'm the second owner of this Yukon and I know I'm not this dirty so as long as you pull all this stuff out you might as well clean all the crap that somebody else put in your car just wanted to tell you that all the screws are the same everywhere that you take them out so that's one easy thing that GM made it is that you don't have to remember where different screws go in different spots I think there's only maybe four different lengths and sizes of screws that have taken out with the smaller ones I think we're in the console cover okay so we've got everything cleaned up put the new amp in you take the old amp and set it down went before then you can see where the plugs go but not like you can mess that up anyway because each plug is different so just put your new amp in and put the screws in okay so the new ones in but before you do that make sure that the one that you took out has the same part number on the back so right there's my part number one five one one four four five four which is the same part number as this new Escalade oh five Escalade that I just put in so now I'm going to be rolling with the oh five Escalade Bo's amp in my oh four Yukon Denali I feel a little bit richer okay so we're going to test the amp that would just put in to make sure everything works right and we don't have to program it attach your battery cable put in the number 30 fuse and turn the key on we'll turn the radio on that works alright alright so what this means is that I don't have to take the vehicle the GMC to have them program the new amp that I just put in to be able to communicate with the radio so since I got the right part number everything works fine I was able to play the radio when I plugged it in so we should be good to go and that means that I just probably saved 150 bucks for them to program that amp to my radio okay so now we've got a metal cover shroud piece back on and just go back in reverse order okay center console back in start putting all the screws back in on the homestretch almost there got the center console dish back in putting those screws back in the middle then you're going to put these two center console pieces back in they snap in pretty easy put on the armrest and that's about it alright and done alright just like that I think I got it new Bose amp put in a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali and I just saved about $800 I got the Bose amp for one hundred and eighty five dollars from a junkyard in Maryland so several times during this install you're going to have to connect and disconnect your battery so that you can move the seats back and forward to get the bolts in the sides so let's connect the battery and plug in that fuse one last time all right so let's try the one more time it's all put together start up the vehicle turn this off because the Delphi blinkers on that's the reset tip that power button there among us you have no idea but they're there living in our neighborhood it sounds like it's working so that's awesome so anyway I got done just in time for it to start raining which is good because working with electrical parts you don't want get anything wet now hope this video helped you out and really save you some money doing it yourself I know I'm glad that I save eight hundred dollars doing it myself I've got other GMC videos for this 2004 Yukon Denali if you want to check them out right here make sure you
