what's up guys moaning aah city here um so it's starting to get a little cooler outside finally here in Texas it's December 5th I think I think it's just our fifth and I mean it's not cold it's what like I don't know 60 high of 80 60 right now maybe got down into around 54 below but yeah not cold at all but hey it's I'll take it today it's really foggy outside a little damp there's a slight mist going on so hopefully goes to see in the camera but the video made me want to show you guys or rather give tips on how to prevent your visor your motorcycle helmet visor from fogging up so this is a problem I had a lot when I first got my bike because I got it in winter I got it in a December 2011 and it was one of the things that was really annoying really bothersome and made it pretty dangerous riding and so I looked around for solutions tried a few different things and finally settle on something that I'm still using now so thought I'd give you guys some tips so there are people are companies that make solutions that you can spray on your visor that will help it but they're not the best solutions but they do help so the strategy with these things is the the fogging is caused by the difference in temperature between the inside of your helmet in the outside of your helmet so if it gets pretty cold the inside of your helmet is warmer and all the moisture wants to attract to the visor because of the difference in temperature on the two sides so the strategy with these different things is to rather these first things is to put something on the visor that curtain up either prevents or reduces the amount of moisture that can bond up on but grab on to the visor so there are companies that make solutions for this an easy solution that you can do at home a couple different ones one is to get dish soap just regular old regular old dish soap but you use in the kitchen and just put some on the inside of your visor ah and well you can do it for the outside as well but the primarily the inside and just rub it around with your finger on the surface let it sit there for a few minutes like five or ten minutes and then wipe it off don't don't use water or anything like that just straight on soap and then wipe it off you can you can also use a shaving cream a shaving cream will work better in a dish soap at least from my experience just get some of the not the gel kind but like Gillette I think the camp is like the short cans with like the green caps I think maybe they made it may also have a one with a red cap but just those like fat short cans get one of those that sprays out of foam or different companies and then do the same thing that you did with the soap just put lather it on there all across the surface let it sit and wipe it off and what this does is the the water it can't as easily bond to or not bond don't know why I keep saying bond the water can't sit on that surface of soap or foam as well what are you doing see ya shaving cream also you have a company solution dish soap you can also believe it or not use your spit so if you have ever been a swimmer or diver this is something that they sometimes do is just spit on the inside of their GOG go go please go spit on the inside of their visor visor goggles and it does a complan same thing but you're wanting a little more permanent thing so this show shaving creme thing works better but yeah if you're in a pinch you're like yeah this fogging is really bothering me I'm not gonna be home for a little while I need to get a solution just use your spit but the best solution I have come across with is these inserts and I'm I don't know what exactly they're called but I will put I'll put a short clip over the screen here in a second and I'll put a link in the description to where you can buy these and you're going to want to make sure that you get the right one for your visor some have like little holes on the side that allow you to clip onto the little things on the inside of your visor but I just have one that just it doesn't really need to use any of the pins it just um it just tapes right on there but yeah so there's a just a plastic insert that's basically the slightly smaller than the full size of your visor that you just tape on to the inside it's got adhesive around the whole edge of it it tapes on to the inside and the strat the why it works is that now instead of having the visor be the these guys are think I'm weird and I don't know why they're going because the oh crap what am i doing I forgot that this was a one-way freaking hate this intersection um so instead of just being the visor and it's cold on one side and warm on the other your choose a speed being just the visor and being one temperature in one side and one temperature on the other you now have an insert that's sitting like a few millimeters maybe a few a half a centimeter away from the visor on on the incest so here's your visor put the insert in sitting just barely away except for where it's got the adhesive and now you have a an air barrier between this insert and the visor so you have the air in between there and now I don't know what here and now you don't have that direct temperature change and so the wat the moisture isn't going to attract the same way and that's what I use now I had no problems it doesn't fog up almost at all I've had it for almost almost a year now and it's great so that is actually I may have had it over you now no can't have it over a year because I haven't had my bike for over a year anyways that is the best solution I have again I'll put a link in the description so you can buy one and get yourself the best solution I have for preventing your visor from fogging up so again you can hit that link in the description be sure to subscribe so you can get my future videos like me on Facebook and Twitter those links are in the description and I will see you guys next week later
