hey today I'm going to show you how to hook up a tractor and trailer and by definition unhooking is the same way that you hook up but being that it's already unhooked I'll show you how to hook it all up me do a few descriptions this is the fifth wheel plate cover basically we don't use grease we use these little plates we put tape on them so they don't fall down then you got the fifth wheel itself and when the trailer and tractor hooked up you have to pull this which latches it open and unlocks the mouth here and allows you to pull away from the trailer then another thing that you have to do is well wakes especially with these trailers is you have to dump the airbags in order to lower the trailer onto the blocks these blocks right here are usually kept right here there's a little slot for them format for car haulers and so what you do is you unhook you pull that you unhook all your lines which you can see there and you dump the air and once you dump the air then you go and release your break and you start pulling away forward and you undo it so i'm going to show you real quick how to do that these by the way or jumper cables that way you can work the hydraulics while the truck is stationary if you don't have those that won't work so here we go like I said you have to first thing as well when you're backing up make sure the truck has air so here we go alright so there you see we have no air what we usually do you bring it up about right at about a thousand and you can extra set the cruise which happens to be here that way you can take your foot off the gas and i'll have to sit here and just wait for the here to go up once we get this then there is a switch right here before dumping the air bags in the back once we build up here we know we're good the brakes work we're all ready I'll go ahead and hit this and start backing up and it will go right into some right into the spot all right here we go I'm going to go ahead and hook up alright so there you go then you got your obviously this is red and you guys this one which is your blue you got your electrical connections and then your hydraulic connections obviously there's your hydraulic connections electrical you're blue in your red airline hook them up and then I just completed the airbag so as you can see now I can pull this out but one of the things when you back up that you want to once you feel it click you want to pull forward and make sure it's locked and that this doesn't come out that's it that's how you hook up a trailer
