Subarus are like herpes there's a gift that keeps on giving and they won't stop even if you want them to all right so guys so Rogers Subaru like every other Subaru on the mischief productions garage as has a problem and today we're in fix it is 2005 Subaru Forester has started to intermittently overheat and before you go ahead and say it's a head gasket obviously not yeah it does overheat but it doesn't show any white smoke and the oil on the dipstick doesn't look so we traced it down we came to the conclusion that it's a third thermostat it's not even sunny out during my Asian intuition is just making me squint my eyes all right side guys so we just got robbed and so we're at the super dealership and a radiator cap a thermostat and Subaru coolant professional use coolant cost seventy dollars dude my heart my wallet 71 dollars for that alright so we're gonna head back now and hopefully this will fix the overheating issue alright so here we go first things first obviously jack up the car so what you want to do when you get our brand-new thermostat is you want to boil it actually to make sure like you know that it's working it so it looks like when it's fully closed and we're going to go boil it and show you what it looks like when it opens up our also if your thermostat do come with a gasket make sure you take it off before you boil it just just in case you know you want that shrinking so yeah oh don't this up honey I think just an even like hold it you're right go ahead and get the day all right time number two now the water is rolling at a boil make sure you play sideways all right 10 to 15 second yeah and you see like this metal part like came out a little more it means it opened it up right there you see that rubber yep so this thing works do you like getting dirty don't you know you fishing so this undertow is actually pretty simple there's only four pop-out plastic trim things and then for 12 millimeter bolts oh it's so dirty oh oh oh you can do it all by yourself okay yeah so this is where so in every other car I'm pretty sure in America dude the thermostat is on top and easy to get to but since this is a Subaru yes it's on the bottom yes yes so we're gonna have to freakin take wait yeah looking at the fan make sure this is here and then undo these two I think twelve millimeter bolts yes and then how should be good all right let's do it Hey oh yeah just kidding guys I lied it's a ten millimeter Oh fun do shows you dry off you're gonna piss mm-hmm got some my mouth full can we just write like Angelo like the glue like a good laugh puts the lotion on the ski all right we go I go hey when you play with your girl's vagina oh yeah dude that's how you know you did it Rhett all right all right guys so after you get it out book a good taste of the coolant and you know you drink enough of it startin bolting this lesson I was there yeah oh there is there's your old thermostat look at that bubble Brad this one looks nothing like the new one honestly it's so much shitty oh yeah oh yeah probably the problem this is gonna work I hope so just like we took it out you put it right back in the same way I'm sure you put it in the right way so that make sure that gasket is seated properly guys and then you put this on correctly like that and just bolt it back in I'm kidding all right all right guys make sure you let you at least like hand tighten it first and then go ahead target now I believe the torque spec for this was somewhat tight so remember to torque it down to somewhat tight that is the exact torque specification actually and there was no leak here so I'm not worried about like changing the clamp or anything so I'm gonna reuse it sure you seated it in properly oh yeah there you go and then make sure you put the clamp where the like notches are which is around here somewhere Brett don't you ever work for me there yeah and I go tighten that down that funnel though okay kind of fits perfectly but I'm legit doing is do a cup of coolant and a cup of water every time hold it look at the mess new maid Roger see we don't have a bleeder valve you have to prep it on your phone which running the car and squeezing the hoses mixture there's no air in there like that you see those bubbles that means there's air in there gonna get all out you don't do this dude you will definitely overheat again alright after you feel like it's sufficiently burped just chill I guess and wait and watch your temperature so yeah usually in the middle right in the very middle is where the normal operating temperature is so we're going to see if it goes up above that alright guys after showering after the coolant shower I got it's time to take the car and we'll attach drive to make sure everything works alright guys so we're the absolute worst when it comes to choosing where to eat but that's given us a lot of time to drive the car and it's been at least at least 20 minutes now and that thing has not moved at all and it's pretty crazy and the back of my head the whole time I was like this is this is a head gasket so we're but let's just try this anyways but it wasn't it wasn't and it worked and yeah it's very crazy alright guys thanks for watching make sure to subscribe comment like and share and stay tuned for more random so I decided to take my SP on a quick spin and so he's just shooting out of the hood scoop dude coming in here
