Please explain how to replace reverse osmosis ro filters under the sink - pretreatment filters

in this video, I want to show you how to replace
your three-stage filter for your pretreatment of   your under sink RO system so I have all my
three filters right here so stage 1 stage 2   stage 3 so the first step is locate your inlet
valve which is on my case this right here it's   the one that's feeding into your inlet and then
also your pressure tank valve which is right here   and make sure that you close them it's a quarter
turn then you want to make sure that your water   is drained by opening the valve on the dispenser
this is a gate valve or plug valve I think right   now your system should come with a wrench this
wrench is only supposed to be used for untighten   these housings and not for tightening them you
can try hand untighten if it doesn't work then   use the wrench there we go now probably a good
idea to put something underneath so that when   you leak water taking this off you don't make
a mess carefully drain it as you can see my my   water is pretty good so it's got some dirt on it
but it's not too bad as you can see it's pretty   dirty and disgusting on the inside so you want
to wash the housing before installing a brand new   one before I install the new one I'm gonna remove
this housing because that way it's out of the way   so it's easier to untighten and just work with
it and then I'm gonna replace that one as well there's my other filter Oh make sure to have a
rag on you whenever you make spills you can wipe   him down looks like before I had in second staging
just a block carbon filter that's probably because   I used to be on well water with a softener instead
of an RO system so I needed that extra carbon to   get rid of the smell and for it to taste better so
but I think I got this one from Home Depot a long   time ago shows that I haven't been maintaining the
system again you can see that even in the second   one there's some garbage in there so this is the
importance of replacing them more frequently so   that way it's caught on the front end and this
last one yeah like slime on it gross it's my other   carbon filters I think this is a cheaper one that
I had from Home Depot as well oh that's disgusting   yeah it's been a while since I replaced these
apart from slime the the filter itself I mean   the housing itself is pretty clean in addition
to cleaning the housings I would take a white   wet rag and wipe on the inside of each house each
connection just to get rid of any particles or any   dry debris that's on it now that the housing is
clean it's ready for installation so you see how   you have that Center holder thing in the middle
right there well you want to put your filter   and align it down the center as best as you can't
kind of let it sit in there also if you have leaks   a potential cost could be this o-ring so unless
you just have didn't tighten it tight enough or   but typically could be that o-ring licking so then
try to keep it centered okay one done remember to   always to just hand tighten so then the next one
down the middle and last one again make sure it's   sent sitting in the center and that's it don't
forget to turn on both of the valves and flush   the system for ten minutes thanks for watching
this is how you replace your first three or two   stage filters on your reverse osmosis RO system
that's under your sink comment share subscribe
