hi I'm Daniel velu now I'm from California Conservation Corps i'm going to show you i would certify your backyard your school yard or your residential campus as a certified wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation to have certified wildlife habitat you're going to need for things you have food and you have cover and you know water and you have basically raising by planting native plants you can provide three of those four things providing food cover and places to raise young this call a California Poppy right here is a great place for insects and animals to raise young provides plenty of cover and also provides pollen and nectar for all those little bees there's a bee in there so another requirement is water if you don't have a stream or a creek nearby your house you can get together a shallow structure shower a bowl anything that can hold a little bit of water like this we just made this out of hard hats and tool handles and if it's too deep make sure you put rocks in it because the birds won't use it to CCC campuses have already been certified as wildlife habitat now I'm inviting all CCC campuses to be certified with a Wildlife Federation as well as all core programs in the United States so in core programs were constantly in service to our state into our communities certifying our places of work like this is one way that we can continue being of service all the way to our doorstep for information on how to certify your space go to NWF dot org and search for certified wildlife habitat and find out if there's any core programs in your state go to the core network org to learn more about the CCC go to see see see see a gob
