hi this is yolanda vanveen and in this segment we're going to talk about how to grow strawberries in a pot indoors now strawberries are a fruit just like any other fruit in their vine and they like full hot Sun outside but you can grow them really well inside as well and here's a couple tips first of all make sure that you have a start that has greenery and a root because as long as you've got a root in some greenery it will grow and you can take it off another starter buy it in container already growing either way they'll do really well and when you plant them they like to be crowded so a lot of times I'll even mash the roots together so that they seem a little more crowded and then stick them right into the ground but I've noticed strawberries don't really even need a lot of Earth they will almost grow on top of the ground and they do want a full sunny window in the house but if you live in a warmer climate where the sunny window will be cooking the plant you might want to put it in a half shade but here in the northwest especially in the wintertime it's not very hot or sunny through the window where it will burn the plant so I want to put it in a room that has the most moisture and I found my kitchen window does better than any other window in the house so I'll just put this onto a plate a small plate on the windowsill and it will come and grow and hopefully I'll get fruit this winter and you can use a small container or you can use larger containers or you can use one of those strawberry containers has different holes in it all over and you can set it in there and as long as it gets enough Sun it'll do well you want to give it enough water to never let it dry out completely and even missed it here and there or throw it in the shower here and there just to get it some more moisture and that way the leaves stay lush too but growing strawberries you can grow inside or you can grow them outside and they're a very easy fruit to grow
