hi friends I'm Marco van with ABC pest control in Largo Florida people ask us how do we get rid of mosquito larvae well remember mosquitoes actually lay their eggs on still water and those eggs actually hatch into little larvae called wigglers in the water number one way to get rid of them is to eliminate the source so by either tipping over the birdbath and refilling those areas on a regular basis draining the tires that we might have as swings outside the home that maybe have a little bit of water in the bottom of it or the pots when you have a pot underneath it the drain pan if you can eliminate the water from that on a regular basis that will kill the mosquito larvae now what about people that have a little pond or a pool in the backyard and they want to eliminate mosquito larvae from there well to weigh one if it's a pond and you get some goldfish the goldfish will actually eat the mosquito larva if it's another little pool that you don't have any fish in that will eat the actual mosquito larva you can go ahead and use a highly refined horticultural spray oil and it only takes a couple of drops dropped on top of the water a pond and that will spread out over the top of the pond and it will stop the larva from being able to suck oxygen out of the air so it's a very easy way to go ahead and control them plus there are a few biological controls that you can get it some of the do-it-yourself pest control stores or even some of the box stores carry the same products as well I'm Marco van with ABC pest control right here in Largo Florida hoping you have a pest free day
