its Maria and today I want to show you how to make this Marilyn cute holiday candy jar which also serves as a drinking glass the rest of the year so anyways it's super simple to make and it only costs a few dollars so let's get started okay so this is what you're going to need to make this project you're going to need one of these mason jars with a handle and the lid and the straw I found these at our local 99-cent store but if you can't find them you can substitute with other glasses with lids and straws I've seen the plastic ones they're usually like a really thick plastic and with really cute designs on them and I've seen them at discount stores and Dollar Stores so you can always substitute and also you can also use a regular mason jar if you like so just use your imagination but I found these her dollar and I thought they would look super cute I'm you're going to need some curling ribbon which I happen to have plenty of so I thought I'd just use that you're gonna need some scissors some holiday candy just a variety I got some of this at our dollar store and I got some of them like the the little Hershey miniatures I really like these are cute I got those at Target and then you're going to need straws and I found these first let me show you these I found these paper straws at Michael's buy create ology and anyways I thought they were really cute there's 20 in here and I've used a coupon so it's really happy with those until I was at the Dollar Tree and I found these reusable plastic straws and I like these a whole lot better there's five in the package and then I found these crazy Christmas straws and I thought these are really cute too so it's just up to you what you want to use so the first thing you're going to Gale it's really super simple you're going to just take the lid off oh by the way I went ahead and washed these in soapy water because there was also like the price tag on the bottom and with the UPC code and so I just went ahead put them in soapy water and just took that off that was really easy and then just dry them so anyways you're gonna take the lid off and you're just gonna fill it up with candy and you want to use really colorful candy especially during the holidays but you can make these any time of year for different occasions and so let's go ahead and put some more of these little Hershey's I love these little Hershey's because I love chocolate oh and these are really cute with a little Christmas trees I found those at the Dollar Tree and I found some lifesavers so you can fill it up and oh and look em BRR these little sixlets they're so cute I used to buy those for a penny when I was a kid and so okay so we got quite a bit of candy in there I didn't quite fill it up to the top and I'm sort of moving it around in the middle because that's where the straw is going to go okay so I'm gonna remove this straw and I'm going to use one of these from the Dollar Tree and I want to show you something the reason I like these draws - because you see that little bump there and that's so it doesn't go through the whole of the lid and so anyways these it looks like they're meant for that and so that's why it was really happy with these and plus you can wash and reuse these and so anyway so you're going to go ahead and put your straw on the bottom where is it there it is okay I'm sort of doing this at an angle and you're just going to wiggle your straw down and that's pretty much it and then we're going to go ahead and put some ribbon around it okay and so okay I figure it's about a yard and I'm going to cut four pieces okay and okay and then I'm just going to tie it around and let me go ahead I'm going to move it right over here okay one second and so anyways I hope you guys are having really fun holidays it's creeping up really fast isn't it seems like it was just Halloween and then Thanksgiving and I was thinking it's just about time to make those new goals I don't think I met all my goals in fact I know I didn't but it's good to have him anyways so what I did was see I went ahead and tied that into a knot okay and the next thing I'm going to do is curl the ribbon see how simple this is and I know I would love to receive one of these if I wasn't making it myself and but I think I'm gonna go ahead and make these for my sister's Christmas party and give them out to all of my nieces and their families it's just really cute you can give these out at work to your co-workers to a teacher and so maybe your doctor your postal worker it's really the thought that counts and so we're almost done here see how fast it is careful with the scissors as you saw that slipped a little bit from my hand and so I basically pinched that right there and was really careful if you're letting a child do this part you know curling the ribbon helping you make sure you have those safety scissors okay cuz the ones I'm using right now are a little sharp okay so that's pretty much it okay so I have one here with a curly straw and one here with a regular straw so which one do you like better I think they're both kind of cute and actually the curly straw sort of gives it a little bit more personality okay Christmas everybody and lo you have a really happy holiday season Sierra thanks for watching bye-bye
