hi my name is Nelson and I'm from Broome gorilla and today we're going to go over how to trim and taper deer Butte for today's tutorial we have our friend CJ volunteering his beard for us some of the tools we'll need are combs scissors clippers trimmers a razor preferably with one blade some shave gel or shave lather and to finish it beard oil in today's tutorial we are going to be tapering the sides of CJ's beard and the tips you learned today can be used on yourself or others first we want to start by setting the guidelines for the interior arches of CJ's beard we are going to make a baseline right at his lips and another baseline right out of sideburns bringing in the curve we're going to take the trimmers and slowly set the first guideline the second guideline and then slowly begin to H in the arch using the corners of the trimmers while making your arch wipe off any excess hair that is in the way once done with one side continue to the other to mirror the arches next we will apply the shave gel if you prefer shave lather you're more than welcome to use it I prefer shave gel because it goes on clear and you're able to see where you're working not compromising where you etched in the arch next you will use the straight razor stretching the skin and tracing over the line you made with your trimmers going slowly not going in any more than you made in the arch using the tip of the razor I have to overemphasize only use the very end of your razor not compromising the arch you made with your trimmers next we will work on the exterior of the beard comb thoroughly through the beard making sure all the knots are out and pulling away from where the hair grows on the beard as you can see the sides of CJ's beard are very outgrown so we're going to take the Clippers from the top to make short too long starting on one side to the other making sure it comes in to the longer the beard not touching the bottom at all because he's growing it out for making it sure that it's more flushed to the face as we begin to sculpt CJ's beard make sure not to go too much in to compromise the exterior of your beard slowly but surely sculpt on each side take one side sculpt it comb it out and sculpt again you'll be doing this on each side what you want to try to do with your beard is sculpted as a nice even silhouette making sure to comb out each side and making sure you grab each and every hair next we'll work on the back end of CJ's beard making a nice distinguished line between his neck hairline and his beard use your trimmers and set a nice straight line from the thickest part of the Cybernet straight to a 90 degree angle down making sure to go over the line over and over again to make a nice blunt line next we'll work on the mustache area for CJ he wants to keep the length of the sides to be able to curl it up but have a clean upper lip to not get any food particles in his mustache so what we'll do is just comb down the middle and sculpt it to an angle not compromising the outside of his mustache for this last detailing technique we are going to use a scissors hovering over the beard not inside the fears not to cut any of the length but to take out any straggly hairs that are left and last to polish off this tapered beard look I use groom gorillas beard oil I used about six drops becoming the size of CJ's beard massaging the oil through beauty and this is the final look for CJ with this tapered medium here thanks for watching everyone and if you like this video like comment subscribe to the channel and be on the lookout for new upcoming videos
