marguerite here today i want to share with you guys a different type of hair accessory you could use in your hair and it's a pair of shoelaces i know you're thinking what shoelaces but let me tell you why i recommend shoelaces because shoelaces have such a variety of patterns and designs out there that really make braids more jazzy and like more unique it really brings out your unique style and ribbons don't really do that in the hair they have like a variety of colors but not patterns and designs like shoelaces do so in this hair tutorial i got a pair of shoelaces and all you need is one pair i got it for 99 cents on ebay.com and they're neon rainbow shoe laces and you could use any pattern that you want for this hair tutorial but um it's a front french braid and it's really pretty i wanted to share it with you guys please stay tuned okay guys so you just match the bottom of the ends of the shoelaces so that you get the center of the shoelace next i grabbed a section of hair and i tied the rainbow of shoelace around the base in a regular knot make sure it's tight and secure next i made the shoelaces one piece and separated the strands of hair into two pieces so it's two strands of hair and one strand of shoelace i started it out into a regular three strand braid every time there's a strand of hair on the side towards the face i add that piece to the front combining it into the braid i never add hair into the ribbon at all again there is hair on the right side so i'm adding hair i'm not adding any hair from the back just the front also every time i add hair i am angling the braid away from the face this is just preference you can line the braid up against your hairline if you want again the ribbon is always solo just to showcase the pretty shades of the rainbow you can use any shoelaces that you come across again i think shoelaces are way funner to use than regular hair ribbons because of all the different designs and patterns out there and as you can see i am just angling it out just slightly each time i add a piece of hair and i'm just repeating and i'm going to do this all the way until i reach the ear so this is just like a half up half down hairstyle as you can see i'm angling it so that it's away from the face a little bit each time and this is just to make it into a unique pattern and now you do the other side the same exact way and then you take make sure you take off the first elastic before combining them together it looks like this so far but we're not done yet because i still got to show you guys how i did the bow so there's going to be four shoelace ends you take the top two ends to make a bow and then you're going to leave the lower shoe lace ends alone and just adjust it so it's just right the way you want it next i'm going to get my scissors and i'm going to cut them the ends of the shoelace strings to the size i want at a slight angle now nobody will even know that you even use shoelaces in your hair at all and i'm going to measure the other side so that they match and the sharper your scissors the better of course mine aren't very sharp but they'll do and this is how they the back of the bow looks like and this is the top view very pretty so i hope you enjoyed watching how to turn shoe laces into a hair accessory and also i wanted to mention that i did a previous video on how to turn your favorite necklace into a hair accessory and if you haven't seen that video there will be a link after i'm done talking and you can click on that video and it'll appear on your screen also i wanted to say if you wanted to know other hair accessories that i come up with that are off the wall because i come up with a lot of different alternatives for hair accessories that you might not already think of please subscribe to my channel and thanks for watching have a gorgeous day bye today i'm going to show you guys how to do a really simple french twist updo and if you guys also this tutorial is like a do it yourself diy tutorial because i show you guys how to turn your favorite necklace into a hair accessory and it complements this hairstyle perfectly so if you guys have somewhere important you have to go to
