hey there today we're going to show you how to clean a pet mate cat drinking thumb I try to do this like once every couple of weeks because you know Kantor gets in there it gets clogged up and stuff like that so I know how to do that is basically just going to unplug the unit in my case there's just this little plug here and we're going to take the whole unit to sink and generally you want to tilt it back just like I'm doing right here so you don't spill it just I carry the whole thing with you shake well it is in the kitchen master bath is it just clean this recently take the lid off on the side take the filter out and support to note which way the filter was so it flows dirty to clean so this is the clean side is the dirty side and just remember which way it went unless the 17 filter in this case we're not going to change the filter so I'm going to put clean side down the dirty side is up I'm going to remove the water reservoir on the side and then you kind of just give this a good yank comes off pump the water out and then pump the water out of this game yourself okay and then take the pump out and this is the key part that people usually miss this is an electronic device so you don't stick this in the dishwasher ring like that but what you need to do is just kind of give it a little pull the front cover will come off and you just need to kind of look in here there's this little white spinny thing that tends to get clogged with cat hair and crap like that so if it's clogged try to try and clean it out you can use q-tips or your fingers whatever makes sense you can also pull this unit out and clear out anything that's stuck in there so there's a little bit so once you've done that go ahead and reassemble this guy I put it aside sometimes you want to rinse it out just to go clear in the cookout cetera et cetera if there's any kind of felon here button wash over this sponge set it aside and then you want to wash this entire base unit down you can stick it in the dishwasher or hand wash it you want to wash this entire unit very well as well this I should get rinsed out with soap and water make sure you get all the soap out and then go ahead and put it back together I've already clean this recently so I'm just going to put everything back together so start by putting the filter back in first let's try the pump excuse me put the pump back in set this guy back in its place this guy goes in next this is this thing here it lines up at the pump just kind of put it snap it into place put the put the ER excuse me the carbon filter back in the way that you originally had it so again I had clean side down dirty side up dirty side is this way so put it in between the two slots make sure it's in perfectly push it all the way down good to go or do that what I like to do is add a little water in it just like I am right now and that's pretty good help it back beyond the water push of the rear of the year and then fill up this reservoir far tighten it up really good just going to flip it over just like that put the lid back on and that's it you're done something
