I won is L I've had a few inquiries on what to do if your boiler is canning and making strange noises and also with inefficient systems and radiators that are not getting very hot or you find they're hot at the top and cold at the bottom so what's causing it basically it's sludge and rust and iron oxide buildup if you're in a hard water area especially you will find the kattiline and the banging is usually from harbor well although akella soft as well if the sludge is bad so what you've got in your system is a buildup of iron oxide sludge and this has got to be cleaned out basically now rather just put an inhibitor in there I would recommend a cleaner first the one I like is sent and always a deposit remover and it's really good stuff and so if you've got an effing e tank system with a hot water cylinder and conventional boiler it's very simple up in the loft tie the ball valve up because you've got to go up there anyway try the ball [ __ ] up drain your rating system down drain your boiler right out do you find a drain valve downstairs somewhere if you haven't got one I've got a video on how to drain you in full radiator if you can't find one okay it's on my channel um drying it all out and go around all the radiators at the top and the bottom and open the air valves and let the air in so that every drop of always gone from your system okay when that host stops running you know you've got it all okay shut the drain valve off shut all the air [ __ ] on the radiator valves back down go back in your loft with your bottle of central deposit remover and pour it in the FM eating okay then untie ballcock and let it fill up better system fill up bleed all your radiators and then run your system as normal now you may find it like clear and stop the noises in a couple of days it might take a week or two okay but just leave it in there and leave it running but one thing we don't do is leave it in there permanently okay after we got to as soon as you're happy the noises have gone and it's performing much much better then we drain it out again so we got to do then obviously back up in a lot of tie the ball valve up again and empty the system as before as I've told you before and then when it's all drained what I would do rather than put your your inhibitor in then is to keep it flashing so what it's a good idea to clean the stuff right now I've found is to leave the actual ball valve running in so empty all out first and then untie the ball [ __ ] when it's all stopped and let the valve run in the tank and just let it run and leave the drain valve open down the bottom and flush it through and then shut the Bob shut the drain valve for say 10 20 minutes early for that grad G and then open the drain valve again and let it all go do this a few times so that clean water is rushing through the system and cleaning all of the cleaner out because we were all out of your system okay so just shut the drain valve let it fill for five minutes again leave the ball valve running and then open again and let it all drain out again and to keep it running do that for about off now the system of good flush through we clean when that's done okay and you're happy shut the drain valve or shut the valve off up in the loft tie it up and input your inhibitor in if you want to stick with Sentinel did they do X 100 which is their inhibitor or you can put fern oxime which is my other favorite inhibitor into your if any tank fill the tank up again let the undo the valve let it fit up bleed your system and you're done you're back to normal and you should find it all work okay now if you've got a combi boiler slightly different to do you have got to turn anything off obviously just empty array date as out find a drain valve emptied out I hope in all your brief valves that's before the other system so everything is gone okay now we've got to do then to add your inhibitor is find the nearest red to your boiler the nearest one it may be a kid you a lot borders put in the kitchen or it may be the next adjoining room find a radio and just take the plug out of one end of a radiator or the bleed valve if needs be and it won't get any worn it because you have drained it out and then just get a funnel a small funnel like the type you get from a carriage and I've put a bit of hose on it and feed it into that hole of the radiator okay and put your cleaner straightening the funnels that goes into that radiator okay once they seen there replace your plug and repressurize your system okay bleed all the radios as normal and get your pressure up to a bar one and a half bar some railway you normally have it and once you have Raviv running again run a system and again you know once the noises cease and once it's quite and down and the system seems a lot more efficient and your cold spots in your rats have gone which could be a couple of days it could be a week but whatever it is when you're happy with it then shake system down again and that's before with the F&E system drain it all out okay empty everything when it's all out and empty shut your your brief valve seal rats off again and turn the pressure back on turn the feed valve on to the filling loop you know and you know you'll know where that is I'm sure there's a filling look to your boil up you'll see it fill it in and leave it running and let it flash through the system and again you could shut your drying valve let it fill up a bit and then open a drain valve again and it what it what it's doing is flushing the system through you could let it fill up to the upstairs radio as if you want as well which would be good idea let it fill right up and then drain it out again let it fill up and let it drain out again do that two or three times to clean the now write out the system when you're pretty happy that is pretty much out then you can put your inhibitor in drain it right down again and as before with the hose and a funnel just fill your central x100 in there or your phone ox whichever inhibitor you prefer pour it straight into the radio which will be empty because you've drained it make sure your drain bow is off at this time because you're going to fill it up once and for all and pour your Sentinel in and then put your plug back in turn the drain off off and repressurize a system okay for the filling loop breathe pressurize it back up and obviously you know the routine as you're filling it the pressure will drop as the air comes out of radiators so the pressure would drop your left to keep on repressurizing until every radio is full and the pressure is that between one and one 1/2 bars when all that's done you can run your system and you should be all hunky-dory thank you'll save a lot of money because if your systems more efficient the more money you save as well on running costs so it's a good tip for that as well anyway so that's about it um any more questions you could always put a query on the air and you can always go to my website if you want a more personal sort of inquiry to do with a heel or plumbing problem you'll know my site address there um so that's about it um thanks very much watching and get written 33 all my heat and plumbing and DIY type videos thanks very much for watching guys thanks very much
