hey guys it's breathe so today I'm going to talk to you about how to choose your first menstrual cup along with the question how do I stop my metal cup from leaking I always get the question how do I choose my first month took up and I constantly find this in my inbox and everything's a today thought finding it around to making a video on how to choose a match cup so the things I'm going to tell you today are things that will probably help you to find that perfect cup that's going to work for you maybe not your Goldilocks cuppa to be cooler which is the cup that you often find when you try a few brands and you decided like this one best or this one or this works for me that's really hard to do when you're making your cut out for the first time but it's definitely possible for you to pick out the cup that's going to work for you the first time if you take this advice so the first thing you want to do is check your cervix the way you do this is to basically stand up and take the position that they often recommend when you're inserting a tampon which to put your leg up on something so you but not to basically stick your middle finger into a vagina and see how far you have to reach up before you can feel your cervix the cervix should feel almost like a round marble with a dent in the center and you can definitely tell when it is because it feels completely different from the rest of your vagina walls so you just have to just set that up and see how fighting at your finger up so if you can insert your thing all the way and can't fill your cervix that we determine as a high sex if you can get your finger in a just touch your cervix we call it a medium cervix like if you can touch your cervix but only get your finger into the second knuckle that's a low cervix and if you can only get into the first knuckle lots of very low cervix so if you have a very low cervix the only cut that's really possible for you to use is probably a mini maluna small I haven't got a cup with me today but that one's not very difficult to find yours go type in on maluna set website now for me personally I can get my finger into these second levels so I actually have a low cervix however I can use a lot of menstrual cups so I'm going to show you today the ones that I have here this is a small maluna this is a lunette model one this is a Diva Cup bottle one this is a Sibel cup small this is a yuki cup small and this is a moon cup UK size B so after you've checked your cervix and determined how high or low it is you're going to want to determine how heavy your flow is now the way you do this is basically to if you use disposables right now how often you have to change a tampon houghton do you have to change pad for me I could easily get away with wearing my pad for three hours and change it quite comfortably my flow wasn't really that heavy I had one head the edge day but it wasn't that heavy if you have to change your tampon around every two hours and your tampon was always full that's kind of pretty heavy that we were probably deemed as a heavy flow if you have to change it every hour or every cover and that's a very heavy flow in fact that's really having you should probably see a doctor about that but if you can easily get a way of changing it every three hours and you probably have a regular flow if it's a regular tampon you're using as well although usually you will have a sense of whether you think you have a heavy flow or not just going to go with your instincts on what you feel on that the next thing is go for a good brand there are a lot of knockoff brands on Amazon which is why did it recommend going out on an is into biometric rub unless you were really certain you know exactly what brands are legitimate and which ones are knock-offs because they're knockoff cups tend to break apart after only two months and you can't replace them because the brands aren't responsible because they're obviously you know impinging on someone else's patents and it's just not fair to the companies that do use safe silicone of an fda-approved and all sorts of things not every cup is FDA approved but all cups made from 100% medical grade silicone unless they say otherwise the maluna cups are made of TPA and the keeper cup is made from biodegradable rubber latex the next thing not to take into account is firmness so this is what you should think about if you have bladder issues especially if you have very sensitive bladder you probably don't want a really really firm cup this cup these Sibel cup is often thought of as a really good menstrual cup of people who have bladder issues simply because it's a very very soft cup by comparison I'm going to take this Yukie cup which is also the soft but the ukies version of soft is not what I'd call soft shall we say this is this soft Sibel on top you can see there is quite a difference in softness between these two also cups I have prominent rooms like this are not considered good for people who have blood issues this is the main cup UK simply because they tend to press against the bladder quite firmly and it often causes you to have difficulty when you're trying to release if you're going to the toilet cause you can wear these when you go to piers where you have to take them out like you in a turn form or something sorry she can sit up also the soft maluna is quite good as well for people who have bad issues however the soft maluna is not good if you are a beginner if you're young I'm 16 and I bought this off milena and whilst it was a really good cup for me start with I really really wish I've got the classic because the soft is just as soft especially for me as I've been a dancer for half my life another popular cut people start with is the lunette cup now as I said I've cut the stem off all of these cups so they were much longer at one point and I have a low cervix so I don't need that stem these always sit right down there this is the reason you also want to consider checking your cervix and it's really important you this around your period as well because your cervix doesn't just stay stationary it can move up and down and if your cervix moves up then what can happen is you put this cup in would you try it on a dry run say and realize oh I need the stem cut off and your cervix goes up and your cup can right up inside you that can be quite scary for a lot of people because often you can't feel it and then they panic and can't reach it the thing to do is just relax bear down with your muscles is difficult go for a Pooh and then often it will push the cup down automatically you can also go in the shower and squat down and that will also shorten the vaginal canal and bring your cup down to the center so if you want to know more about these menstrual cups in comparison to each other then you can click on my most rock comparison video right there but these are the small maluna and Loonette compared together these are very popular starter cups for people who are under the age of 20 you know who are teenagers they're very good cups for them by comparison this is the small maluna Cup and the Diva Cup size one there's quite a difference here which is why you need to think about the size that you are you can see the Diva Cup is a lot longer and it was also a lot wider than the maluna compare their rooms for you so you can see if you're quite a small petite person this might be a little bit big for you especially if your cervix and low I can just about get this Cup in but I usually have to kind of coax my cervix into the cup and that does take some getting used to to do that and also you have to have been quite used to using Leinster cups for that as well so maybe not such a good thing if you're just starting out and you have a low cervix if you have a high cervix however this might be a really good cut for you because it means the cup won't ride up inside of you and get lost that's a common myth by the way as well your menstrual cup can't get lost it doesn't vanish inside of you but your service can move up and your cup can therefore write up inside your vagina as I said before just get in the shower squat down lacks don't tense up it is perfectly able to get out but if you absolutely have to you can go to the doctor and they will easily be able to take be able to get out it won't go up inside your uterus your cervix does not open that wide until you have a baby so I hope that helps you guys if you're looking into trying a metric up and running a bit about the size age doesn't really have much to do it there I know a lot of brand say for over 30 you've had a kid you can have the sites to if you haven't had a kidney under 30 episodes one but that really doesn't apply you want to check how heavy your flow is how high your cervix is and what firmness you think you're going to need because if you do a lot of sport and you know your pelvic floor muscles are really strong you're going to want to firm a cup so that opens easily and also stays in place we've got a soft cup and you have really strong public four muscles often what can happen is your muscles are going to crunch it like that and then it'll leak so also take into account anything like bladder issues you may have from anything you think is going to be aggravated by firm cup pressing in that case you might need a softer cup softer cups do take a little bit more coaxing to get to open especially if you have quite strong muscles but can be used if you have slightly strong muscles just not if you have mega strong pelvic floor muscles firmer cups open up a lot more easily but sometimes are difficult to get out the moon cup was my first monster cup I ever used before my maluna but this cup has got a really really strong suction so try to take it out often makes you panic especially for your teenager if you're a virgin as well or a two doesn't really make much of a difference you know because you can use them the same cup after you've had sex as before you've had sex as long a dimension as well and it won't change that much it only changes quite a bit if you've had a baby obviously cuz the baby is quite significantly larger than penis but this is probably not a good metric cup to start with if you're quite young simply because it is quite a violent cup and is quite strong in suction as well so top tips for a first monster couple as well are to find a most require had some really good grip rings on the top because this helps you to not panic as much and gets you allows you to grip the cup quite easily a nice stem that you find is really good the lunette stem is lovely it's stretchy and has a lot of grips on it as a set of cut it off so I don't need it and find a cup that's a good resistance so I hope that's helped you guys if you have any questions post them down below and sure somebody can come along and help you out here so thanks for watching guys please subscribe and I will talk to you later buh-bye
