hi and welcome to fusion my name is genuine and creator and developer of fusion mineral paints I'm going to invite you today to try fusion your own pain the beautiful thing about it is that it's just so easy to use if you're a novice I've never tried painting before or if you're an expert in the field for over 20 years you're going to absolutely love the fusion it glides on with a silky smooth finish it has a built in topcoat what more could you ask for I'm going to tell you a little bit about how to properly use Fusion mineral paint give you a couple of tips for your project today I'm going to be working on a bare pine porous surface and typically with a surface like this you're going to want to do a little bit of prep to it so I would stand it down make sure that there's no grain that's still raised and typically you'd want to put a primer on but because fusion has a built-in primer you obviously do not need to do that with ours so just going to go ahead and paint right over top but would he have a piece that's already been previously finished with something maybe a lacquer or a high-gloss your paint is only as strong as the surface that it's going on to prep that is the most important thing with your piece so if it's got that gloss on it you're going to want to sand it d gloss it there's any wax at all remove that wax and once you're there you're ready to go so where are we set with our piece here what we're going to do today is use ash ash is a beautiful contemporary charcoal color in the fusion mineral paint line we have 24 gorgeous colors these stem from our heritage palettes at home set has paint company that we've had for nearly 25 years so you really have the best of the best in the fusion mineral paint collection I absolutely love and adore our containers they are see-through so they display absolutely beautiful so when you're in the store trying to choose your color you can see it right then and there how awesome is that our containers are also made out of 30% recycled plastic and they're all handmade here in North America when you go to open your container it's always a good idea to give it a good shake just mix it up what happens is you've got all these wonderful covering prop these those are the pigments and those settle to the bottom so you always want to get nice little shake just to make sure that you have it all fluid and throughout I'm going to open up your container and if you want to you have a spare container you can actually pour into that container work from it and then close up your lid just so you don't contaminate it with anything we have a couple of different bristle brushes that you can use we've got the small fusion brush and then we have the medium fusion brush and I'm going to use this one because this is a rather large piece so I want to use this one to get really good excellent coverage now I'm just going to use the container straight as it is so what I'm going to want to make sure when I'm done is that I'm going to clean the lid so that fusion doesn't fuse your lid back to your container it really is a testament to the quality of the product so I've got my brush really loaded up with a lot of paint a lot of people don't use enough paint and that causes a brush strokes but what you should be getting is really excellent coverage let the paint do the work for you it's going to glide on really smooth really silky Fusion is self leveling how awesome is that don't brush back and forth in the same spot all you're doing is just making your paint go back and forth in the same place and you're actually pulling it away they're not doing any benefit to the paint at all so once again really load up your brush gonna move some things out of the way here because a little fusion goes a long way one pint covers about 75 square feet now what exactly is 75 square feet you say probably about two or three dressers so for $19 you can buy a pint of fusion and probably do two dressers maybe even three it really depends on the color of course and the surface that it's going on too but the fusion coverage is absolutely outstanding a couple of other benefits about fusion there is no formaldehyde or ammonia in any of our products so they're very eco-friendly very low vo C and you can do project indoors and not have to worry about anything I'm going to continue painting my piece here and because this is a piece that's going to be in a bedroom not high-traffic fusion has that wonderful built-in topcoat so we don't have to worry about any water damage or anything like that because I'm not using the piece too often I'm gonna have beautiful hardware I'm not going to be touching it or scratching it or the kids aren't going to be playing with it as much I'm not going to want to put anything more on top of it I'm just going to leave it as is so I'm going to go ahead put my first coat on see if I need a second coat and if they give you the second coat I want to give it the proper two to four hours between coats and then you're done so try Fusion mineral paint hope you have fun
